You’re right, 733 at Walsall is a below par boycott compared to AFC’s efforts over the years at our place. A boycott means a bigger than usual attendance right?
Genuine question, the reasons AFC despise you lot is clear obvious & totally understandable but why do you hate them, is it because they started & the very bottom, caught you up & overtook you within about 15 years & have a better home & away following?

We've inevitably sold out for Fleetwood on Saturday, allocation of just over 1k. Worrying to see that the made it to general sale for a few hours. I'd like to say I'm looking forward to it...

How can you slag off Walsall attendances? Yours were pretty shite when u was top earlier in the season.

Were they? Currently 7th in the league for home attendance, so not really shite.

Averaging over 7k and that's with a shite 6 weeks, where we were dreadful. 10k against Crewe. 9k against Walsall, couple of 8k and 7k attendances.

Pre covid we were averaging 4-5k, so our attendances are going up.

Surprised by our attendance yesterday, but in a poorly paid area, late into January, when some people haven't been paid for several weeks, it's kind of understandable. Plus it was absolutely freezing. I suspect Walsall had similar issues but they surely deserve 7k minimum.

Obviously we'll never be as massive as Pompey.

I mean, why do you hate your rivals…? Genuine but silly question really.

You can’t go 20+ years trashing everything about a club and expect not to get anything back from their fans. I’d say it’s as simple as that but there’s a lot more to it which goes right through both club‘s cores and results in the level of pettiness that AFCW often display on match day…

See exhibit 1,026, Harry Pellend last year:

Take a look at WUP (Womble Underground Press) if you want to see the true nature of the media darlings. Death threats, misogynistic nonsense, racist abuse. And that’s just from some of their high profile fans. Their backwards message board/forum sums them up (though admittedly the handful on here are very decent folks in comparison - sorry guys I know my approval is like arsenic to you).

MK supporters hate us because we hate them. They've yoyod between the championship and L2. We've had the glory of numerous promotions and regrettable relegation.

Actually, in my case this isn't strictly true. I hate their club, not them although I've no wish to communicate with them.

Away fans and a few tickets offers I think. Christmas obviously brings its own financial struggles as well, especially with our super pricey tickets for the level.
Just clocked you are charging us £26 next month. Tad excessive

Port Vale like ourselves show attendances as bums on seats and not tickets sold like all the rest do so their actual attendances will be higher than shown.

Who are the worst offenders for excessive prices for away fans?
Crewe, Walsall and...
Us but we do have a £10m stadium debt to pay off. It's just as bad for home supporters unless you're a child or a ST holder like me.

Portsmouth fan, in the Championship, monitoring attendances going back months, of a team in the 4th division that's over 200 miles away, and then remembering them.

Why?

Loves us don't he, has been unusually quiet lately though so guess his second tier adventure isn't going too well.

We're also £26 in advance, £28 on the day (not sure if this is available to away fans though).

It's disgusting really.

I should have remembered that one seeing as I recently purchased 3 for our 8 goal thriller.

Agree disgusting prices for 4th tier football

Crewe's are the worst by a mile because their facilities are fucking abysmal.

I’ll probably get shot down for this, but I’ve just seen Walsall have sold 650 tickets for our clash at the weekend.

Absolutely walking the league, annihilating anyone and everyone in their path and they can’t even shift a 1,000 tickets for a game 2 hours away.

Very poor.

We tend to sell most tickets for away games in the week leading upto a game, I think we had sold 400 last Tuesday for Morecambe and ended up with just shy of 900 there, so Walsall may be similar and still shift 1000+ which would probably be about right for them.

We tend to buy a lot on the gate, so probably will be closer to 900/1000.

12:30 and being on Sky will always knock a few hundred off too.

Honestly pisses me off when sides are blessed with a once in a blue moon season where everything they touch turns to gold, yet they don't get the incredible support it deserves.

I just had a skim on here . I think attendances being down a bit must be related to sky/the pricing .

It's mad a lot of matchday prices are £25+ ; i wonder whether many clubs will get over and above than their ST holders from next season unless doing really well . It seems a kick in the nuts that they got a shiny new TV deal , with more inconvenience for the fans (and probably more games they can't attend ) yet prices will continue to rise no doubt I wonder when £30 + will be regular matchday price ?

I mean, I hear you, but we charge £25 on the day. Surely, anyone who plans to attend the game on Saturday already knows they’re going - especially given the circumstances you’ve outlined. Circa 25% of your following just aren’t going to a.) decide on the day they fancy a 240 mile round trip b.) decide to pay five English pound more, just because.

Anyway, it means fuck all in the grande scheme of things and I’m sure you lot will have the last laugh anyway.

1100 tickets sold for our trip to MK. No problem with that, it's a personal choice whether folk attend or not. I may head to Plough Lane to watch it.
