Mansfield at home. Despite a good win mid week we didnt look great for about 75 mins of the game. Mansfield's form seems a bit mixed , with recent losses against the likes of Crawley. I still expect them to have too much for us though. As with any game at the moment I'd be happy to just not lose.

Think we’ve junked 5-3-2 lately. Gone 4-4-2ish which brings the best out of both our front 2 of Wakeling/Jephcott. We’re starting to create a lot of chances (Stockport apart) but, equally, give up a lot of chances for the opposition

So, are our strikers better than yours?
442 suits us better, if we’re matching your formation.

Definite yes to the striker question. Hemmings hasn’t lived up to expectations and tends to go looking for the ball rather than staying in and around the box. Nevitt is still raw, Lewis isn’t really a striker, though an awkward player to deal with. Burton/Taylor are inexperienced youngsters. The midfield don’t chip in with that many goals either.

Walsall at home.

After the way we played on Tuesday I’m not very confident of getting anything from this match. 1 win in the last 4 has seen a bit of a halt to our decent run of form. Defeat tomorrow and it will be 1 win in 5, 3 defeats in 5. A bit of a rut.

Hopefully I’m wrong but i can only really see one outcome and that’s a Walsall win.

Carlisle 1-2 Walsall

Sutton away:

Matty Platt is suspended, so big loss at the back. Tyreik Weight went off injured shortly after Cook’s goal midweek. I haven’t listened the Hughes’ presser, so I have no idea whether he’s fit or not - another big loss if he isn’t.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Timi Odusina
CB: Romoney Critchlow
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead

RW: Scott Banks
CAM: Harry Chapman
LW: Tyreik Wright/Abo Eisa

ST: Andy Cook

This is exactly the type of game that we tend to lose - our only saving grace is that it’s away - where our form has been shithot.

Big game next week at home to Northampton, so providing we take at least 4 collective points from both, then I’ll be happy - no matter which way round.

1,000 or so making the 9 hour round journey.
1-0 win

I believe he said that Foulds, Wright and Chapman were doubts and Platt suspended of course.

Stockport County.
Up against Newport, are they still quite a direct side? We've done well against the more direct sides in the division, coming away with three points against Sutton, Bradford etc but who knows how this will pan out.

Some will say "God Knows"

But if even he exists, I highly doubt he's looked into the future to check the Newport Stockport score.

Had a look in on your forum. Someone mentioned it’s not in our interest to rest Jonny Williams just because it’s his final game before going to the WC. It most definitely is in our interest to rest him. If he gets injured today and cannot attend the WC we would miss out on over £200,000 in compo for him whilst he’s away with Wales.

I think he’ll start on the bench and come on late if needed.

Interesting. I agree it would make sense from a Swindon perspective to rest Williams. The player would be resentful if picked up an injury in today’s game and you lose out on the World Cup pay-off. Probably got enough to beat us with Jephcott and Wakeling anyway.

Bradford City direct?. You clearly haven't watched us this season then because we haven't been direct enough at times, relying on patient build up play

Maybe Lindsey will ask him if he wants to play and risk it. Seems a bit daft to me playing him.

Should be a decent crowd at BP today. League form had dipped with defeats at Barrow and Hartlepool so would be nice to get back to winning ways, we definitely need a few victories at home. Sounds like Donny might be there for the taking, if they do have a weak CM then I'm hoping we look to overload/outrun them in the middle of the park.

Jeffers did okay in a wing back system, but you are right 4-4-2 suits his poacher instincts even more.

Part of me thinks you play your best possible team but I completely understand that as a club paying off debt and looking to progress, that potential unbudgeted windfall could be the difference between a January promotion push or not. We will see.

I would'nt rest any players. What happens if his replacement comes in has a terrible game, scores an own goal you draw and miss promotion by a couple of points. Not to mention who pays his salary. I would be propper pissed off if we rested someone for the sake of compo.

No Williams today - not even bench. Walking disaster Harries starts his first league game for us. Youth team keeper on the bench.

Just the one CB for us today, with some sub par full backs making up the rest of the defence

Only one way this is going

Early booking for Andy Cook. Just seen a replay of it and I can’t for the life in me see what he did wrong.

Honestly, the officials just don’t help themselves, do they?

A bit "bare bones" today for Dale. Assuming it's 4-2-3-1 as usual:
O'Donnell
Keohane, Graham, EEL, John
Diougaraga, Brierley
Sinclair, Ball, Rodney
Hendo

Subs: Kelly B, Seriki, Nelson, McNulty, Malley, Kelly O, Tulloch

Jim McNulty has made over 10 times as many FL appearances as the other six put together....

Fortunate to be on equal terms at half time. We were horrendous for the first 30 minutes but improved up to the break.

Tbh, I’d be happy enough to finish as it is.

Decent, direct, goal for Crawley but you can se why Barrow are near the top. Strong, quick and direct.

Good game here.
