Every single Scunny fan knew we weren't gonna win even when winning 2-1. We haven't won since March and it wasn't gonna change today. The second Crawley equalised, the game was only gonna go one way. It would have if it wasn't for our keeper as well saving a penalty.

We are doomed with our current form and all of our injuries, we can barely fill a bench at the moment.

Yet another game we should have won. The performances are certainly there just need to be a bit smarter in seeing games out.

Newport came out much better second half, fairplay. Chance to put it right Tuesday.

And more clinical. Neal played well but Jesus we should of been comfortable winners. Salford are poor, not the machine we expected.

We’re not a million miles away. We’ve played three teams tipped to be in the promotion mix and the fact we are disappointed not to have won 2 of them is a sign we are trending in the right direction. Just frustrating we are having an issue getting over the line. In the meantime I’m betting on 1-1 draws for us for the foreseeable future.

Were not no, creating chances galore and being punished for one lapse a game, one of them where we will probably have it click in one game and hammer someone soon. See if we can get another hit man in but at least Bennett and Cullen are already off the mark. Great cameo of Bennett and should of sealed the tie just before their goal.

If we can start being clinical we will be more than a match at this level and should have a decent season.

Not sure if that's a good point or not. I know the Iron fans are in a downer but a point up there seems to be ok.

Missing a penalty though. Oh Beryl !

Was talking to a few of your fans after the game. You are obviously going to be right up there, excellent passing side, but for all of your possession I didn’t think you hurt us much and your best effort was the long range shot our keeper tipped over. Would have taken a point at half time so obviously delighted to get the win. Good luck for rest of the season.

Id be very unhappy to draw if I was you. You should've got a winner at the end with the missed penalty and all the chances. Thankfully our keeper kept us in it and got us a point.

If you're a homegrown centre back who wants their first goal in profession football....

.... Why not make it an 86th minute overhead kick to win the game?

Sounds like you dropped off first half and got at us in the second. We’ll have to learn to play with more attacking intent when sides do sit back and ask us to break them down.

Rodney Parade isn’t an easy place to go to however, you always give us a game at your place.

Wouldn't quote go as far as overhead kick! Keeper had a shocker with it too!

On balance happy with a draw.
Felt we were the better team 1st 15 mins and last 20. In between scunthorpe were the more threatening.
Penalty was I think more a good save than bad penalty. Also hit post and Watson made great save from Nadesan.
4 from 1st 3 games OK.

Vale have been 3 bits of concentration off 9 points, yet we only have 3. Slightly frustrating, as we have been the better team against two fancied outfits (although I think Salford will be nearer the bottom than the top)and more than matched Colchester.

Win in the week and it's been a pretty decent start, but it could have been so much better. We need to do the dark arts a bit more, waste more time, we're too nice.

We're creating lots of chances, could have been 3 or 4 in the second half today and the same applies to last Saturday. We'll give one of the lesser teams a drubbing soon. We have had probably the toughest start in terms of fixtures and once it clicks I think we'll be threatening the top rather than the bottom.

When Askey was Macc manager, my dad and I would often comment that we were far too nice and honest. It was particularly galling when other teams would be anything but.

I think it’s just in his personality, I don’t think an Askey team will ever be good at the ‘dark arts’.

Surprised how bad Salford appear to be to be honest, got a walloping at Crawley, looked meh against Stevenage and we carved them open multiple times and Neal saved them.

Not really pushed on it seems. Can’t see them doing anything this season at all.

With Mayor you’ll open them up many times, they are poor bar Towell, even Rooney wasn’t much.

I’ve seen them on TV and today’s game their full back is useless. Toure.

Felt like a defeat yet almost an inevitable ending after Bennett missed a sitter for 2-0.
Saw about 2 Salford fans all day, most peculiar set up and considering the money the facilities are pathetic. A rickety portakabin for a bog .
Lovely walk back into Manchester through a place twinned with Istanbul, Beirut and Somalia.
Vale will be ok just lacking a cutting edge. Amazed if Salford come above 16th, piss poor outfit

Nice win up in Cumbria for us, believe it or not we are just that missed penalty at Newport away from being top of the League.

And before the game the Stagsnet faithful were cutting their throats.
