That is outrageous. Port Vale are in promotion mix and other teams might be miffed if Vale know what result they need for promotion before game.

What a stupid comment. Why would it make any difference whatsoever? It's hardly any sort of advantage is it? If anything, it could mean more pressure on us both, if results on the Saturday mean both sides HAVE to win the game. And if results on the Saturday mean we no longer need a result, then we will have earnt that by our previous results.

And of course Vale fans might not be able to celebrate promotion at reasonable time of day: ie when the pubs are open.

That won’t be a problem as the game is a 3pm kick off so pubs will be open well after that finishes. May result in a fair number of Vale fans knocking sick for work on the Tuesday though.

Sounds like our prospective new owners are actor/producers Ian Sharp and Jason Maza. Ian Sharp is from Scunthorpe which explains the link, not sure why Jason Maza is involved.

I imagine they've got a fair bit of money considering their profession but nowhere near enough to buy and operate a football club, hope they're part of a consortium.

and I thought we were TV's favourite EFL2 team this season.... we've had 3 live games so far...
We had three as well. Maybe there is some Mark Cooper love-in in some weird department of Sky.

In a case going on for a few years, Pools have won a 6 figure sum as compo from Fulham for teenager Luca Murphy. He went on trial there, they encouraged him to run down his contract as they had no intention of paying us anything, Luca came back, deliberately put on a massive twat act and we sacked him. He was on our books for about 10 years.

Irony is he got released by them later and not even playing pro football any more. Serves them both right and glad we were able to eventually stick it to a wealthy London club higher in the pyramid. No intention of saying bigger because it's only fucking Fulham.

Very very underhanded by Fulham that.
This is all that's wrong with football, all the money goes to the top levels anyway, and yet the greed some of them show is simply embarrassing to me as a football fan.
A drop in the ocean to them could keep lower league clubs in business for another few years especially with covid hitting everyone hard last year.
Fair play for getting the compo as least it shows they cant always walk all over us. We had some youngsters signed by bigger clubs and the money we get is pretty derisory im not surprised a lot of clubs dont invest in youth anymore.

Three years it's took the sly c***, trying every trick in the book to shan us out of any compo for an amount of money that is basically a drop in the ocean for them, they're in direct contrast to Leicester who took a lad of ours on trial last year, liked what they saw, paid a fee including several future fee's job done.

Thought Simpson would get it because almost everyone in football hates Joey Barton... but also like you say, both managers have identical records this month but one of Simmo's wins came against Barton. Oh well, I can tell you're just annoyed because you were hoping the curse would help you out.
We didn't need a curse to help us out when we have KFC & Subway to help us out.

The team that’s most likely to miss out on that basis currently is us, if both teams have earned a right to be where they are and do so that’s their prerogative in my view.

ironically the last time we went up from this division we needed to better cheltenham’s results and did so winning at home on the final day while the team in 3rd lost to a side already promoted.

Difference being Leicester don't have delusions of grandeur. Fulham are an arrogant, soulless non-entity. Can't stand 'em.

Fulham were v generous to us when they took Jay Stansfield off us. You won't hear any bad words about them from us. Chelsea on the other hand....

The saga continues. This sort of shit is why people can’t be bothered with the club anymore. Kamikaze move from the supporters trust to delay the completion of the East Stand, based on a vote that finished about 53:47 with a turnout of less than 200

What purpose is it they are looking to buy the athletics track? Seems pointless to me.

This is also why I’ve never been keen on supporters trusts or fan owned clubs as all that happens is you get a certain small group of them who get full of their own self importance and not act in the clubs interest.

53:47 is an overwhelmingly majority, even a bigger majority than our successful Brexit vote :)

Weird view. I oppose our Trust model for various reasons, but they certainly have the club interest more in their minds than a sugar daddy throwing around his cash and using it as a toy. It's pretty much the exact opposite to what you're saying.

Who the fuck knows, the club have the lease. The trust are their own echo chamber, they clearly dislike the current owner and are making life as difficult as they can.

182 voted out of 700+ Trust members, many of which didn't receive the voting email that was sent on Friday night for a Monday deadline.
96 for, 86 against.
The oldest Trust celebrating it's 30th anniversary this year, might be on it's last legs in it's current format, if the social media uproar is anything to go by.

Appears our old chairman uncle Barry is promoting his new book, an extract from it has appeared and basically reading between the lines he seemed to have doubts about selling the club back in 2014 to the Italians - but did so anyway as they had money and he badly wanted out.

I remember doing a quick google search on them back in 2014 and straight away I had my doubts as he was wanted in Albania and had been in court a few times there IIRC.

Apologies for the link to the *** but I couldn't find it anywhere else.

That's because it's indisputably one of the best papers in the country, so it's no surprise it got the story before anyone else.
