I know we no longer in the football league but today might just be the best day supporting Oldham as the club owner has agreed a deal to sell the club. The ground owner has also agreed a deal to sell so everything coming back under one owner . Thank you to all who supported us in our fight to get rid of the worst owner in the football league special mention to Blackpool orient and port vale Wigan and Bolton supporters for tremendous unity against poor owners

Sometimes (as with what happened with us) sometimes you’ve got to experience this to start the road to recovery.

One word of caution is that if you’ve a supporters club you get that involved with the new owner, as who’s to say the next one might be worse (sorry to sound a negative tone, just being cautious)

Also, the conference is a hellhole of a league which is going to be nigh in possible to get out of next season.

Genuinely thrilled for oldham, well done! everyone will wish you all the best.

I'm not one of these fans that are constantly arsed by Wrexham and rubbing in the fact we held them off last year, but you can see why they rubbed some of our fans up the wrong way. They were like this all last season. And judging by our players' post season interviews, their players/fans etc behaviour after the beat us 3-0 to go top of the league (prematurely, we had two games left to their one and was still in our own hands- we won them both) wasn't the most classy.

Think they'll walk that league next season, I don't think that article will be far wrong though to be honest.

A bit under the radar but as of today Port Vale Football Club is finally fully free of Norman Smurthwaite! The final installment of the £4.5 Million purchase Carol and Kevin had to pay for the club!

Should free up more funds now to push on but more importantly the last strings of that awful saga are finally broken!
Was he a bad egg then?

Grimsby got taken over this time last year, just after relegation, and it seemed to give them a massive boost to bounce straight back. Would be good to see Oldham able to do the same.

Remember it’s only County fans obsessed with Wrexham. Travelling 50 miles to Edgeley Park to support away teams playing us is totally normal behaviour.

You,ll have a good season,But don,t think Wrexham will.
I don,t believe signing EFL players will win them the NatLge.
Their PPG last season would have usually have seen them win the league tbh. I'd be surprised if they don't win it this coming season.

I dunno, feels like Wrexham belong in that division at this point.

Don,t gert me wrong, They have the capabilities.
But think you need a manager who knows the NatLge.

They literally had the PPG to do it last year under Parkinson. We just exceeded them with an above average PPG for NL champions. They chased us down well IMO. I certainly had a squeaky arse at times.

Who's the team with the proven manager that will exceed them so much when you consider their budget is a lot higher? Paul Cook maybe? Not sure.

It's Wrexham's. Mullin's the best CF that's ever played at that level IMO.

Like i said above don,t get me wrong.
Think wreham and yourselves will/would be a credit to the EFL.
The NatLge is a different animal , Sometimes EFL players/managers have trouble adjusting.

If Dave Challinor didn't exist, those "EFL players and manager" would have won it. They were objectivley unlucky. Their PPG was Champions worthy in 8/9 out 10 seasons.

The Play-offs are always a banana skin. I had a feeling they'd lose them. We would have lost them if we'd be ousted for the title. Demoralised. Grimsby had the wind in their sails and had plenty of fight, they deserved it based on the format but they were nowhere near a better side than Wrexham.

I’d have thought Jamie Vardy to name just one would have something to say about that.

Wrexham should do it agreed but a lot of the time you’d see them on BT they weren’t all that great for all the money they’ve spent.

We had Grant Holt and Glenn Murray play for us in the NL both of who had years in the PL after leaving us - you could argue both of them were better strikers than Mullin. And as kieran_vale said Jamie Vardy was better still.

No team has beaten the 95 points Tranmere got in 2016-17 in a full season since then, including Champions. We didnt even go up.

IF exactly, If DC didn,t exist we would not have won the PO Final.
If buts whys and wherefores can be used to get any point across, just like stats.

7 headed goals in that mental 5-4 game too can’t remember ever seeing that before.

The referee was, erm, quality too. :bg:

Wrexham are gonna fuck that league next season (although it would be funny if they ended up in the playoffs and fucked those up instead).

Normally with a team chucking cash around like that I’d feel the same but after our play off game their fans were unbelievably gracious, in the same circumstances there is no way our fans would have been that nice about it, and also a big number of Wrexham fans donated to the crowdfunder the Mariners Trust did to enable a lot of our fans with kids to be able to go who couldn’t have afforded it normally with the extortionate prices for the final.
So for those 2 reasons, I hope they do win it.

That’s great and fair play to them.

But I did see their kit launch today under the banner ‘This is our kit for the promotion season’.

Football fans do not like that (even if I think they’ll romp the title).

The only final Scunthorpe might be in is the final relegation spot.
Normally I’d agree but it would be hilarious if they beat Wrexham. Obviously I’d want them relegated the season after with zero points and -500 goal difference
