Does anyone know the away allocation at Bromley? Hoping to get down there in a couple of weeks but worried I might miss out on tickets!

About 500 or so, isn't it?

VF16 beat me to it. Comments didn't load inititally, weirdly.

Bromley about to (early next year) develop one of their stands, and in order to meet league standards for away ticket allocation, are temporarily moving some of their season ticket holders.

I really don't understand why our owner Jason Whittingham is holding out for these parties to take over the club ,hopefully it will never happen ,and either he accepts an offer from a legitimate source ,or we go into administration and he looses the club and makes nothing ,the least this scumbags gets the better

Looks dodgy to say the least that with Morecambe. Just hope for them the only way out of it doesn’t end up being administration.

Seeing also that Tranmere seemed to have got themselves involved with Norman Smurthwaite taking a loan from him. Hate to say it as they’re a good club and fan base but nothing good will come with that parasite being involved.

I just came here to say that. I'm no legal person but reads to me like it's secured against the ground. Seems like one of yours was in the know about this a while back.

They looked decent against us but really struggled, not ideal and obviously not going to get many positive feedback from Vale fans, felt like if Carol didnt bail us out we’d probably be gone or at best non league.

Aye, it’s a very dangerous game Palios is playing here. He’s been a guest at quite a lot of their games.

I'm far too young for those days but I've heard plenty of stories and those were great times. Polar opposite to now, only off being 92nd in the league on goal difference.
Same but i do remember my peak football loving years of the 90's and searching for the Swindon shiny for my panini sticker collection - Paul Bodin was 1 I remember aswell . Seems a massive fall from grace to where Swindon are now . We moan we have had a bad couple of decades but Swindon & Oldham must be up there as the worst maybe ? Especially if you go down to the NL

Oldham definitely worst as at least Swindon have had a few promotions in the last 30 years...

Seems to be the same era I grew up watching football in. Bodin is probably most famous for that penalty miss for Wales against Romania, but for us, he scored the penalty that got us, for 1 season only, into the Premier League. He was a regular scorer as a roving left sided defender.

Unfortunately off the field we've just gone from one set of poor owners to another. The Andrew Black/Di Canio era was a lot of fun, but completely unsuitable and it's been a struggle since then. Oddly Lee Power, despite being an absolute crook knew what he was doing on the pitch and we had relative success under him. Since then it's been a race to the bottom.

There is a new supporters group been setup called 'spirit of 69' which is trying to get some support for protest to try and oust the current ownership. I can't see anything changing for a while so we have to hope we can stay up this season and work on getting new owners in that can take us forward. One thing is, it's never dull!

Worth a go, twice we had the "Black and Gold" set up to oust our owners and its finally seemed to have worked and given us stability.

"On average, 41% of season tickets attend each League match."

That can't be right?! Unless they mean 41% of STH's attend *every* league match.

Do you know anyone from that group out of interest? I'm quite close with the spirit of 69 folks and any advise would be much appreciated.

I dont personally as it has been 5-6 years since Carol came in but was closely tied to the supporters club so best bet would be to go through them:

https://portvalesupporters.co.uk/ (Contact details are on there) and I am sure they will point you to the right place, I am sure they'd be happy to assist as we had a lot of help ourselves from Blackpool Supporters Club who actively helped us with their experience and we in turn backed Reading and Morecambe in recent protests (even if we had a wasted trip to Reading from the outcome!)

Some of the other guys on here may have more direct contacts and sure they will comment.

Good luck, we have been there (twice) and succeeded, all be it the harder way (forcing administration by starving them out) the first time.

Not at all, we all have rivalries, fall outs etc at this level, its part of the story but we all go on the same journey of suffering most weeks for our various teams at these levels and need all our clubs to be there for the local communities and the fans who have been part of it for generations and it was awful worrying if we'd still exist or be in non league with no way back at times.

Sometimes a period (not too long obviously) is just what a club that has been mismanaged and under invested needs. Certainly was in our case and I know it has been in others.

The thought of falling through the EFLs trapdoor to the embarrassing world of the NL is a horrible, depressing and acm be viewed as terminal but our experience was far from it. Albeit admittedly due to amazing owners taking over at that lowest of low points.

It works for some and not for others though, for every Lincoln, Notts and Chesterfield there is a Rushden and Diamonds, Macc Town or Darlington.

Its as you say largely down to luck with owners, you fell on good owners, we luckily did just after scraping survival twice and clubs like the fore mentioned have grown stronger on and off the field.

We were threatened with Administration but got lucky Carol was mad enough to pay well over market value (plus the remaining sell on money I believe from Jordan Hugill)

Of course works for some but not others of the 6 examples you gave , size of clubs appears to be a factor in whether it works or not.

Having good owners is more important than good players or manager.
