They could try. Staffs dibble are well on top of that kind of thing at VP now and with where away fans are put now the likelihood is they won’t even come close to any home fans. Would expect Walsall fans will be banned from any pubs in the town as well.
They’ll be closing the access so won’t get close, didnt see a single Crewe fan outside the stadium and they had 2000 there, it’s quite weird considering fans used to mix in Tommies but on the flip side it’s pretty much made trouble non existent.

To be fair Walsall fans will be a bit more distinguishable with that fucking accent of theirs ;) But yeah they’ve got the segregation nailed down now, don’t even have the ones in the railway who used to go near and goad the away fans anymore since the move to the Hamil.

Never much minded them other than after DC’s daughter passed away some of their pond-life on social media had some pretty vile things to say about it not that can hold it against all of them. If we were to go up I’d be ok for them to as well as it’s a nice easy away game to get to.

Really excellent attendance that you would imagine will be near 11k. We haven't had these sorts of gates regularly for a long time. Lower league football is really thriving.

Should be a good game. We haven't been anywhere near our best for 3 or 4 games, but I imagine we'll be up for this one.

Probably a "form goes out the window" kind of game.

Only worried about where to park, always used to stick it in the car park down the hill from the old away end. But I imagine that will be full with the attendance what it is.

Be a good day out regardless. Hoping there will be no trouble.

You can try using the below to reserve one. The away one at Dimensions looks sold out but Synectics car park is the one you’d have used before. The downside is not sure offhand the easiest way for you to get to and from the away end from there as it’ll be blocked off between there and the railway so a detour would be needed.

Although it's more difficult to mingle with home fans, it's still easy. At our game last Monday we parked on Synectics (a designated home car park) with no checks as to who we supported, and had free access to the fanzone and the entirety of the ground on the walk around to the away stand, and there was no police precense stopping us from going back around the home sides from the away stand after the game. Like, zero. There used to be lines of police stopping fans mingling, now there's nothing whatsoever in that direction.

Obviously I've got no interest in violence and was with my OAP father (hence parking as close as we could, he can't walk far), but for anyone wanting to cause trouble there isn't really anything stopping them, despite what the plod or Vale execs say.

There is no issue if you behave, its not banned for away fans to wander round there but its segregated in terms of parking is usually through the back of the the stadium across the field at dimensions and no drinking facilities for away fans on the side where our fans generally enter it.

If they go round and attack families in the fan zone then there would be plenty of security and presence there to deal with it but Vale Park isn't really the kind of ground you roll up and find trouble these days, the big increase in support has been families so its all built around that. We've had Bolton, Derby, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Barnsley, yourselves down in big numbers in that away end and seen pretty much zero trouble and barely a fan outside of any of them.

It's fare more pleasant now as you don't have fans mingling after the game on Hamil Road as home fans leave and away fans pool out the car park which could be a flash point in the past.

There's usually away parking on pack horse lane in burslem off Westport road near where I live. Also one of the people I go vale with who is 60 says they used to sing a song about Walsall something about finding a Walsall fan to punch and kick can't remember exact lyrics. I think vale don't like Walsall from years ago also due to Alan Buckley and the fact we always lose to them. I've already put down Walsall for 6 points against vale before a ball was kicked this season.vale could be premier league champions and Walsall a Sunday morning pub team and Walsall would still win. Walsall have won the last 5 games at vale park so lump on an away win.

Don't you call it an exorcism rather than a protest?
I hope be coming to the game. Only second visit and first wasn't a GY game, years ago when you were high flying and smashed Norwich 3-0 I think.
To have a manager having a laugh about the training ground being haunted is just about palatable if maybe you've finished a season in midtable or something as a bit of end of season giggle etc. But to have this nonsense as we sit bottom of division 4, for the first time in our history really isn't acceptable.

Things are bad from top down at the club, it desperately needs a reset, which takes time. If we slip into non-league it will be disastrous.

You say that and I know where you're coming from. But I talk from experience when I say it could be the best thing for your club as it was for ours. Two things that have to be done to make sure it is the right thing. 1. You will have to appoint a manager that has the relevant experience in Non League 2. You need to come back at the first attempt.

Absolutely, unfortunately there are countless ex-league sides who get stuck down there. On the other side of the coin the clubs that do go down and get back up generally flourish, but they are usually the 'bigger' clubs and not nonsense like Forest Green etc. (No offence etc)

Not sure if it’s been mentioned anywhere, but sad news here in that Mike Jones our veteran midfielder made of literal nails has been withdrawn from the squad to undergo an Achilles operation that’s likely to keep him out for the majority of the season, if not all of it.

The definition of a cult hero here for what he’s done for us these last couple of years. Came in as a trialist in summer of 2022 after an injury ravaged spell at Barrow where he’d been written off as ‘finished’. Earnt himself a contract and never looked back really, been a massive part of getting us back in the EFL. Joining the back room team for the rest of the season apparently in some capacity.

Fingers crossed we see him on the pitch again for us one day.

I really hope so even if it’s just a sub appearance for some closure for him. Didn’t expect him to be playing beyond this season even without the injury. Been brilliant when he has played

Believe me, you don't want to get into non-league. We lasted 15 years in the hell hole, and Hartlepool are heading the same way. Oldham too are struggling, and so are York.
