Massive blow for Bradford of course but also and more importantly Cook, hopefully he can make a full recovery and get back in action sooner rather than later.

Definitely. A bad one to pick up when you're nearing 35. Absolutely gutted for him.

For a guy who's had a history of struggling to keep himself in shape and given his advancing age, this could be the end of his career as a top level L2 striker. End of an era, time for Bradford to plan for life without him.

To be fair to him, prior to this injury, he has barely missed a game for us since signing from Mansfield

A big blow for Bradford. He literally single handedly beat us on Boxing day. They looked fairly functional but he's probably going to get you 10 more goals at least and likely the difference in tight games. We have definitely missed that 20 goal man in recent years.

Seemingly got on OK without him at the weekend but in other games there seems to have been a bit of reliance on him.

January signing you'd imagine will be crucial.

Makes more sense Bradford absolutely hauling the galleon out to gazump us to underperforming out of favour striker Martin Mellon. Desperate.

Galleon? More like a rowing boat. Good news either way. Think Marvin Mellon will be a good signing.

Fucking hell that's harsh. Personally always been a fan of Cook. Really don't get/like the shit he gets off our fans. Could have been a much different story for him at Town if Hurst had have given him more of a chance.

Hurst didn't give him a chance cause he was a lazy cockwomble

Yeah I'm a bit gutted in truth, but I trust Cook has other irons in the fire. Could do with cracking on though.

Only me that thinks, weirdly, that Bradford will be better without him? No more overly relying on one man. If they bring in the right replacement, it could actually improve them.

Aside from the obvious that no one would wish such an injury on anyone, Cook is incredibly loved here and well on his way to challenging the top end of our highest ever goalscorer charts which is gut wrenching in itself as everyone here wanted to see him achieve such a place. This season again he was on track to match the 30+ he scored two years ago and his combined goal/assist stats have regularly been up there with Haaland and Salah.

Due to the weather, apparently. Couldn't get down to Walsall so went and trained with Stoke which is closer to him.

Depends on who you believe though.

Confirmed by club that both Scott Robertson and Lucas Ness are both out for the season following scans.

Been impressed with Ness but think we can cover him with the squad. Robertson less impressed due to inconsistent but already short in central midfield and he is proper Scottish stick ya head in where others wouldn't put their foot type, so this is a blow.

I think I read that another couple of clubs may also have a fair few injured so far this season but we have definitely had our fair share especially in midfield.

But dems the breaks, no point moaning about it on every match day thread :shifty:

Our local rag states that Stoke's new manager wanted to run the rule over him and your keeper.

The demand for Notts talent continues as the club today announced that the assistant manager and brother (coach) have left the club. Both destined for their old haunt of Wealdstone to take up the reins.

I’m not sure they are, they disappeared from the club before Barrow took Whing and Taylor went to Solihull - so either Wealdstone have been planning on sacking Taylor for weeks anyway and they’ve been on gardening leave or something else has gone on.
