Yay! We're top of the most managers this season table. It's about the only thing this squad are capable of winning. Warren Feeney has been a pleasant surprise so far. We never thought we would be keeping hold of Sheridan and it seems the long term plan was to prepare Feeney for the post when Sheridan headed for a job up North. It's just happened a bit quicker than we were expecting.

I'm surprised Sheridan has taken the Oldham job since they seem in a bit of a mess at the moment. However, he does have form in turning things around and has built a decent foundation for Feeney to progress.

If Stevenage don't buck their ideas up, how safe is Sheringham?

Not very, he's gone. Weird timing.

Strange timing indeed - signing players today as well.
As anticipated the experiment didn't work out. Feel for Sheringham as we have suffered injuries and he was working on a smaller budget than previous managers but I couldn't see him turning it around which is unfortunate. Things might have been different for him if he'd opted to get a bit more experience on his coaching staff but he wanted Kevin Watson, who I suspect has left the club with him.

Big month of matches for whoever comes in - Crawley and Hartlepool being our next two matches.

I would imagine Sheringham wasn't in charge of transfers? Would make it even more bizarre if he was... Thing is Stevenage have signed a fuckton of players in January as well, I'd have thought either sack him or back him before everyone was brought in. IMOStevenage would have been fine anyway.

Actually brought in quite a lot of players in recent weeks so a bit of a surprise but they are struggling and been unlucky with injuries/late goals.

I don't know who is involved in the signing of players to be honest with you. After we signed Luke Wilkinson, Sheringham praised the "recruitment team" for completing the transfer so I guess he wasn't that involved in transfers although I'm not 100% sure how we operate.

If it turns out that he wasn't that involved in the whole recruitment process it'd make his appointment even more odd, after all one of his main selling points was meant to his ability "to open doors" giving us opportunities previously not available to us.

Mark Roberts would make an ideal replacement - please.

At some point in the future I'd like him to return as manager, not sure that time is now though!

Dino Maamria may be an option, seems to have turned things round at Southport.

A lot of our fans get their wish in Darren Sarll coming in as Caretaker manager. The same fans who slaughtered Wallace for appointing a Rookie manager are all patting themselves on the back even though Sarll is also a Rookie manager? I wish all the best obviously but jesus some of our fans are thick as shite.

The team looked lost under Sherringham, we haven't looked that lost since Gary Smith was in charge. Performances were getting what they deserved and their was some real dross served up at Broadhall Way. I never expected us to be in the play offs again but thought we would have put in a better showing than this.

Fully agree with all of that. Really can't understand why a large number of our fans are clamoring for Sarll as manager. His only experience at first team level is working as a coach alongside Teddy. It's not possible for us to know how much influence he had during Teddy's tenure but he's obviously had some involvement and has to be in some way accountable for our performance this season.

No obvious option out there, Sarll could get it if he performs well whilst in caretaker charge, Maamria's another possibility, still lives in the area and he's done well at Southport, not sure how amicable his departure was or whether we'd be prepared to stump up compensation for him though. Not sure if either option is what we need - got a feeling Sarll will get it provided he doesn't do too badly over the next 2/3 matches.

Unless he got someone lined up then I can see him keeping it till the end of the season. Fans accept Dino because of his strong links with the club as a player and coach but again he's a rookie. Probably best to wait and see whats available in the summer that we can afford and who is actually ineterested. People banging on about he had no money, I'm sure he knew that when he took the job, not like Wallace dropped that bombshell after he signed. He gave it go, a new manager, be they a rookie or experienced carries risk, look at Peter Taylor's stay ay Broadhall Way.

Strong rumours coming out of the club that Nolan's been asked to step down... Fucking joke if true.

Talksport now rolling with it.

The Moose on Talksport has just said he's heard it's true. Sounds like the chairman has been trying to take over the manager job and Nolan walked according to him.

Another source now saying he has gone but given reason as a falling out because Nolan applied for Bolton job and chairman saw it as a betrayal.

The Darren Sarll and Glenn Roeder tag team is being kept on for next season.

Allen was absolutely scathing about our players and the state of the club in general after you beat us the other week. I'd be amazed if he returned under the current ownership (or if they'd have him back considering some of the things he got up to).

I wouldn't be surprised if he came back one day though, he seems to have a real soft spot for Notts in general and is really well liked by the majority of our fan base. Can take or leave him myself, but wouldn't say no in our current position.
