You do love it when managers seen the same incident so differently:

Mike Flynn:

"For their penalty, if it was a foul it was outside the area, but I am not even sure it was a foul.

"It was a terrible decision. I am sure we will get a comment of 'sorry' in a few weeks time, but that doesn't help us."

Derek Adams:

"I thought it was a penalty kick. Our player gets across their defender and he's lucky not to get sent off or booked," Adams said.

"It was a clear penalty. You only have to look over the season. Newport had played against us with 10 players twice and won twice.

You wonder if they believe what they are saying sometimes!

We were awful for a lot of the game going forward but did our usual thing. Songo'o was immense, an absolute rock.

God I love being a shithouse team!

I did not see the game, but from your comments I am guessing Yann put his body on the line. As ever. Definitely a fans favourite.

Congratulations Morecambe.

I think I'd have preferred Newport to come up as my sister lives there, and an old work colleague supports them, but I do admire Morecambe's shithousery.

On the basis of the season Morecambe deserve it on how close they came to the autos so well done it's been an unbelievable season for them & hopefully their fans can enjoy some visits to some amazing stadiums next season. Heavily criticized style of play & not pretty on the eye but you have to admire their team spirit & how solid they are as a unit. Hoping Stockton renews or goes Bradford because I honestly don't rate him on the games I've seen although he does have a hard job as the lone striker but I think we can get better for L1 with the amount of frees available this summer. Unlucky Newport to lose in that matter in extra time is a sickener but with these fraudulent refs I cant say I'm surprised. The standard & inconsistency of decisions all season has been pathetic which the EFL need to act upon, we had about 3 red cards in consecutive games all rescinded in Feb. That Sheehan is a tidy player & looks a class above surely he'll get offers from the league 1.

Congratulations Morecambe well deserved. Harsh on Newport to lose it like they did but they’ll be a threat next season.

Rumours of unrest behind the scenes and Flynn might be off. All their good players are out of contract so it's in the balance for Newport next season.

Newport been a bunch of cheats for years so can't complain when a dive goes against them.

We should be trying to sign Liam Shephard and Ryan Haynes now they haven't gone up.
You've got more chance signing cybil shephard and arthur haines.

Bradford and Flynn will be a proper shithouse combination, although you could easily swap out Flynn for Adams too.

Madley probably gets stick at most grounds tbf, after those disabled comments and the dog bothering rumours.

Talking of which, Mike Dean will definitely never referee one of our games. Not that he gets many EFL gigs.
I doubt Dean will ever referee an EFL2 league match but every team would be very happy to have him as ref in Cup games.

Rumour is you may get your wish!! the only stumbling block would be getting his missus to leave newport
I'd prefer Flynn to Adams. I think he'd be a better fit for us.

Although at this stage it seems like the club has put all their eggs in the Adams basket but I'd hope they have a backup plan.

We know that flynn holds bradford city in great esteem after his time up there playing for you second only to his home town club, and after his comments after yesterday's game i don't think it would surprise anyone here if he ended up with you next season, but as i said in an earlier post he would have a hell of a job persuading his missus to move up there.

‘Every team would be very happy to have him as ref in Cup games’

Apart from those that have already had him referee their cup games in the past I suspect.....

I pay to watch games not the Mike Dean show. He’s as bad as Kettle on that front. Would love to see him referee at a World Cup mind, would be hilarious to see other countries bemusement as the apparent best ref the English FA has to offer prances about making bizarre decisions.

Mike Dean has had a poor season by his standards, though not helped by the VAR advisors but until then one of the best referees in the Premier League and nothing like Mr Kettle. Nothing wrong with being a bit flamboyant either.
