The bottom third of League One was poor quality last season, basing it off that, all three promoted sides would cope fine, certainly with a summer of improvements. Of the sides in the play-offs it's Wycombe and ourselves that would probably struggle the most. Wycombe have four very good loan players they'll lose, in Saunders, Yennaris, Onyedinma and Mawson, which would be a massive dent in their squad. As for us we were pants until Christmas so without improvements I'd anticipate we'd struggle.
Onyedinma has been crap for 2 months to be fair. As for the loanees i have faith in Ainsworth finding some more real gems on loan for next season whichever division we're inAlfie Mawson hadn't played in The Football League before arriving from Brentford but won 3 end of season awards last night so i don't see any reason why Ainsworth can't find more raw talent who can't get in his own team and would welcoming going out on loan. Out of our loan players he'll be the hardest to replace i admit.

I don't think Onyedinma has been "crap" at all, it's just that we've been playing him up front instead of on the wing where he fits in better.

There's really no point in hoofing the ball to physically unimposing shorties but oh well, we do it anyway.

I would agree that even if we do succeed in the playoffs we'd have to be faves to come straight back down given our lack of resources but who knows. We would be relying heavily on loans once more for sure, as there's no immediate prospect of a big cash injection. Maybe a successful playoff campaign would give us, say, 200k of unbudgeted income though, which would get you (I'm guessing) a couple of decent L1 standard players?

Okay crap was a bit unfair but after his scoring run he's gone off ther boil, he's too small as you say to be pumping balkls up to him as defenders easily push him over without conceding a free kick he'd be better off crossing for others to score. I have faith in Ainsworth bringing in new loan players whatever division we're in next season, after all who had heard of Mawson before his loan?
