Gobsmacked Liam Roberts isn’t the keeper here

Always difficult to comment as you see a maximum of two games of other teams players a season. But I'm surprised Anderson isn't in there.
Funnily enough most of the players above didn't shine against us, though Clarke was a bit, well, effective.

Wilson, Clarke and maybe Azaz are the only players in that list who I would want to see in a City shirt.

Dieng had a great season with us but personally I dont even think he's been our best midfielder this season. He's only getting in this team because of the goals he's scored. Collins for me has been much more consistent week in week out and Brown and Jay have been more creative. I'm pleased he got in the TOTY but it shows that these award things don't tell the whole story.

They are all decent selections though I do agree with EricSabin that Roberts should be the keeper. It is interesting to me though that six of the players in this there is a very good chance they are not even a part of teams who make the playoffs.

As I said on the other thread I’m not surprised none of our players made it as we don’t really have many who would dominate the sort of individual stats that would get them picked and our success has been more down to how we play as a unit.

From my (hopelessly prejudiced) perspective I can't believe Moore-Taylor isn't in there.

His leadership of a revolving cast of centre-back partners and two wing backs who, though very effective going forward, are not the best defenders (exhibit A: our 4-4-2 experiment at St Albans in the FA Cup) has been the bedrock of our promotion IMO.

Wel, done to all the players chosen. We can disagree with a certain name or prefer one of our own but by being chosen it shows they have done well this term.

One thing, only one Crawley player has had a good enough season to be in the discussion. Didn't get picked but hey ho.

Agree I would definitely have JMT before Clarke.

Belshaw best keeper in the league and its not even close

He was flawless on Saturday that's for sure.

Plus, I've never seen a 'keeper do so many exercises when the ball was not in play/up the other end. He was patrolling his box doing star jumps and so on like Mr Motivator.

Wouldn't argue with the front 3 and Wilson and Cadden, Guthrie too. The rest is shite

He is like having a sweeper too, so good with his feet and allows us to play out from the back with ease. He hardly puts a foot wrong, I think the last time was Peterborough in the cup

Hardly true when there's televised games (fgr for example). Plus I've seen Bradford 5 times.

Dieng obviously should be there. Stubbs would be without a doubt if he was fit all season. Cam dawson should be there without a shadow of a doubt. And I'm a little surprised Brown isn't there.

Best keeper by miles I have seen this season is the Colchester lad, Shamal George.

We battered them at home, won 3-0 but without him it would have been 6 or 7.

Must say though for the goal of the season for Proctors volley against Sutton to not even be nominated somebody is having a laugh there. Or for that matter the Orient lad who scored that lob on the same day.

Judas Moore-Taylor? Never.
Agreed with that. Jumped ship just for the ££££ and thought he was better than he actually was.

He's not bad at this level but he's nowhere near as good as Stubbs.

Wollacott’s form has dipped a bit lately, but for the large majority of the season he has been brilliant. Maybe helping Ghana to the WC Finals may have swayed it.

The Rovers lad won goal of the month that month for dribbling past 2 or 3 players, Procts goal was sublime but imagine its their bigger fan base voting on it that swayed that one.

Did TC even win it last season for his ridiculous strike from half way against Barrow?

If it was Elliott Anderson then I’m pretty certain Newcastle fans were voting for him. It was a good goal don’t get me wrong but it was not as good as Proctors. Same as how Kian Harratt got named our player of the month earlier this season as I think there was a load of Huddersfield fans who voted for him.

Can’t remember now though am certain you’re right in saying it went to someone else.

Paul Tisdale exploiting his in the know knowledge (and implementing a ridiculous clause in it as well so he could leave with him...)

Judas has no place at ECFC ever again, and quite frankly, he wouldn't even make our bench with the likes of Stubbs and Cheick now.

Think many are aware, given how crap he was with MK in L1 that this is his level and he can't handle L1 footy.

But isn’t the point of team of the year all about performances this season? Judging players on form at previous clubs etc isn’t really relevant.

In this case JMT has been consistently excellent for us holding our defence together and is often the one making last ditch blocks tackles etc. Also been a real vocal leader and dictates a lot of our play, inc nearly always being alongside our keeper to oversee goal kicks and how and when to play out.

With 3 players in team of the year we certainly can’t complain but he should definitely be up there in our own player of the season awards.

Do follow, Chris. Denzel said he would have him back over Clarke, I said he's Judas, I'd never have him back, and Trapdoor agreed with me. Our conversation wasn't about the thread title.

Didn’t Denzel say he’d have him in team of the year instead of Clarke? Bit different to saying he’d have him back at Exeter, which is neither here nor there when judging how he’s done this season?

How would he be able to comment on that when he admitted he can't judge when he's seen them a maximum of twice this season? And singled out Clarke for how he did against us.

In any case, trust me when I say that purely on current form and ability you would have JMT back, he’s a class player who holds our defence together and is going to be crucial in our efforts to stay up in league 1 next season. Very few weaknesses I’ve seen.

He's a very good player, we know that more than anyone. But he isn't a touch on Stubbs, not even two JMT's could compete with him. And I'd rather Chieck over JMT on ability, as well. Our CB's are immense. I genuinely don't think he'd make our bench if all were fit.

You must have a bloody good team if he wouldn’t make your bench!
