Think we'll have the youngest squad in the league, but Jensen and shearer bring up the average age to about 30 haha

A first rumour of the summer, exciting times down at Meadow Lane. According to BBC Notts, we are in talks with Port Vale captain Carl Dickinson.

Devitt, Adams and Lambe? Curle appears to be doing what he did here and signing all of the attacking midfielder/winger types.

He needed to, the retained squad had no wingers or attacking midfielders whatsoever, and in the second half of the season we relied on loanees like Alex Gillead and Hallam Hope to fill those positions.

Remember him playing for Stoke, shithouser isn't he, a bit of a bastard. Google imaged him and he has a League 2 face.

Need a couple of those don't we, will do for me from what i've read about him. Not had a decent left back since Sheehan fucked off, either.

Not many youngsters will get a chance with us now so wish Doherty well.

We have quite a few of ex youth players who have done well lower down.

We've spoke to Colchesters Gavin Massey in the last week - that rumours come up again today, looks like our next objective is to sign a rigth winger.

Also spoken to Jermaine McGlashan.

Eagerly anticipating Bakayogo to another club in this division to really put Davis under huge pressure now.
I can't wait for tomorrow's presser where Davis sounds all unhappy about missing out on Devitt. There is no excuse for missing out on players at this level. If we can't get in an average league two player and are losing out to teams not much bigger than us, we are truly fucked.

Don't get me wrong, if I was Devitt I'd have chosen Carlisle. Better club, better manager, probably better wages. But we've got no hope if we can't attract guys like him. I don't care though, a shit preseason in the transfer market will probably lead to a shit start next season and the board can finally sack that useless twat off.

I will agree, although if it were up to me we'd always have a team of little fast fellas and 2-3 horrible bastards. I'm not sure I can deal with a 3rd consecutive season of having the slowest team in the league.

If it makes you feel any better, this time last year we were missing out on Vadaine Oliver.

We've signed Nicky Deverdics from Dover. Creative midfielder who scores goals. Seems like a good signing.

Shite when he was at Barnet if I remember rightly. Think he's had about 15 clubs already, so I'm sure he'll last as long as an Orient manager.

3rd consecutive season? I can barely think of any Notts squads in the 23 years I've watched them that had pace except for under big sam and even that team wasn't that fast

Has plenty of faults at L1 but would be decent at L2 in my view!

If there's one thing I remember about Dickinson is that his crossing is woeful.

To be fair Brown was a revelation when he first pitched up here. A driving ban and an injury later and he dropped off the face of the earth, there's clearly a player in there somewhere just a terrible attitude too. In fact I believe near to his release he signed up to the Fishy and despite his best efforts it was painfully obvious it was him. A lot of slating of Hurst & fans alike. Pillock.

Yeah, exactly. Good for two months and never recovered. Always will be barrel-chested but it doesn't excuse him for poor fitness. When he actually did play, he was nothing like the original player. Coleman is obviously still friends with him from his Southport days so I can actually see why he's there.

If memory serves me right Notts County fans will probably recall him being torn apart by Campbell-Ryce when we blew a 2-0 lead there three seasons back.

Fuck knows what you must have offered him if you couldn't even get close. I very much doubt we're paying him mega bucks.

That interview sounds like a classic Greg Abbott interview from his time here.

I wouldn't take any notice of it. All a load of tripe that will be repeated when we can't compete with Chorley in non league in 12 months time. We've had this sort of shit for three years now. Only a couple of months ago our chairman told us we're a better run club than Burton Albion and more sustainable.

I'd love one of these clubs who we keeping disrespecting with random claims of unsustainability and subtle digs of overspending, in order to cover up our own inadequecies in running a club, to publicly put our shower of shit in their place.

Notts are also in talks with keeper Adam Collin recently released by Rotherham and Port Vale midfielder Michael O'Connor who has also been offered a new contract by Port Vale .

I like Loach and would be cool with him as first choice but Collin is decent I think, same with O'Connor.

Collin is ok, but is prone to the odd calamity, especially on crosses. We released him because Gillespie's performances were more consistent and less error prone. Excellent penalty stopper though.
