The Terminator I hear Orient are looking at our right winger Harry Cornick on loan. He's been at Yeovil for a year or two on and off so they'd know better, but think he was well liked there. Way was reportedly asking to have him back just the other week. Usually one of our stronger dev squad performers in those games. Can also play up front depending on what you need.
And now he has signed! Did very well at Yeovil last season I thought. We have him on loan till January - He'll give us another useful option and squad depth.

Hessenthaler was watching your U21s play recently, no one could decide which player he was scouting though!

Reece Brown played 90mins for us this evening, he may well be our next signing - which will complete our squad which will have 27 senior pros in it.

Come off it. If Brown signs, that'd make it 18 senior pros, plus 8 wet behind the ears kids and Cornick.

Its a bit late for me :ffs: not going to include Dunne or Kashkett. Cornick for me is a senior pro!

We've just signed forward/winger Harry Cornick on a 6-month loan from Bournemouth.

Scored a few for the Glovers last year, what's he like Yeovil fans?

Darren Way confirmed last night that he is one of only three players he has attempted to bring in and failed with. We were hopeful of getting him back but he chose Leyton Orient instead. Says a lot that we were keen to bring him in.

As with most young loanee wingers, he's capable of being unplayable but also of being anonymous. I'd think that with a season of League Two football under his belt he'll be more of the former than the latter this time around.

I like Cornick a lot from what I've seen. Pleased with that. We've actually recruited well.

We have, though we need another centre back.

Doubt Cornick will start very often if I'm honest. He'll be useful for the JPT to give Massey a rest.

I agree with that. Fully expect one in before Cheltenham.

Cornick will also bring something different off the bench and genuinely provide competition for a starting spot.

Interested to see how Semedo does following all the pre season hype - last time I saw him he was turning out for Welling and looked a million miles from league football.

Moi aussi. Bundles of talent; just needs the experience. No better place to get it than League Two, where you can carry six or seven players every game and still finish top 10.

Leicester City are supposedly interested in our head of recruitment Lee Dykes, according to our forum.

I can't see it, to be honest, but he'd be a huge miss if he were to leave. He's just signed a new contract with us, either way.
Confirmed by Dykes in a club interview today that he'd received an offer. Sounds like Championship or Premier League, I know the Sun were reporting that he'd been offered the main scouting job at Leicester amongst other interest.

From the interview it seems like he might want to take a look at management and see if he fancies going that way, and the fact that Curle has made him assistant must mean he thinks Dykes is capable of it. Very pleasing to have kept him in any case.

I seen on our forum that Macauley Gillesphey is training with us this week, I'd be pretty happy with him coming back on loan. I think that'd be a solid replacement.

Surely we'll see a goalkeeper come in before the Portsmouth game, and we still need cover for Miller at right back (providing McQueen leaves).

We've signed GK David Forde on a season loan from Millwall.

Think that's probably us done now.

Good luck to him. Fantastic servant for us but getting on now and has had a poor couple of years. Very influential personality, though.

I think it's pretty clear from preseason that Curle sees Atkinson as Miller's competition at right back

Looks like there might be something in the Raynes to Orient rumour

Hmm, I'll be the first to let Orient fans know that Michael Raynes is an AWFUL defender and the WORST player we have ever had.

What?

Well I'm just joining the typical internet forum band wagon of "Let the fans of the club who are after your player know how shit he supposedly is".

Gillesphey for Raynes would be a weird swap, would leave us with quite a short defence with Brisley the tallest at 6"2 I think. Individually Gillesphey would be the better player to have, but he's not too different from the other centre backs whereas Raynes is a very tall stopper who'd be handy in defensive away matches.

Raynes surely won't go unless it was for a fair bit of cash, no need to let a leader with experience and a good dressing room character leave, even if he is just as back up, it's good back up.

Just signed Josh Vickers on season long loan from Swansea. Good job as we had no fit senior keepers

Fair play to Marlon Jackson. Got no idea how he, or his agent, has managed that one.

I don't think you'd find too many Conference Clubs that'd take him.

Pierce Sweeney has signed on a permanent deal. He's been on trial with us after being released by Reading.

He's looked solid enough in pre season so am fairly pleased it's been done.

If the rumour does indeed have grounds, those are the reasons why we're looking at bringing him in - Not only as backup, but as a potential starter as well.

We currently have Yvan Erichot who's 24 and signed from the Belgian top division - no experience of the English leagues so the signing could go either way, Tom Parkes who signed from Bristol Rovers and 18 year old first year pro Aron Pollock as our centre halfs.

Raynes would fit in very nicely to our setup, he has experience of this level and has played alot of games and comes across as a good leader.

Every player has a price, it just depends how badly Hessenthaler and our recruitment team want him and what Carlisle's price is. We've already spent around £250k on Gavin Massey and Liam Kelly.

Our owner will spend the money if he sees fit, we shall see. Raynes may want to stay up North anyway!

We had him on loan last season for a few months just before Christmas. Bang average League Two full, not bad but absolutely no stand-out attributes whatsoever.

His wife is due to give birth in the next week or so apparently, can't see why he'd want to uproot unless it's a really good offer for both himself and for us.

I'd rather he stayed, he seems like one of the more popular players in the dressing room, but if the offer is half decent then we've already got a couple of good centre-backs and Gillesphey supposedly coming back from Newcastle so it wouldn't exactly be a disaster.
