Tomas Holy signs on loan from Ipswich… possibly spells the end for Covolan after his antics the other week.

6’9! and at least means we have a keeper on the bench be it him or Stone!

Should help with our inadequate defending at back post crosses!

Not sure if we have had a player from the Czech Republic before but we had close ties over there decades ago when we even played the National Team a couple of times (not sure if linked to Stoke on Trent and the Lidice massacre)

Amazed that Ipswich have any players left as I thought they had all gone to Colchester!

Joel Cooper a winger on loan from Oxford.

No idea on him, scored a lot for Linfield but doesn’t appear to have had a look in at Oxford

Expecting some outgoings from us soon. Sounds like Joe Nuttall is ready to be signed but we can't due to the embargo.

Nobody in our entire squad I care about if they leave.

In the case of Holy if he can resist the urge to kung-fu kick opposition players then that will be an instant plus. At that height if we are still a mess defending set pieces am not sure what else we can do. Loan until the end of the season is not promising for the career prospects of Lucas or maybe Aidan Stone.

Know nothing of the other lad other than I'm not hugely fond of the amount of loan players we now have. Unfortunately for him being the replacement for Politic is going to be a tough act to follow but hopefully he can do a job for us.

It seems a bit of a messy January at the moment on and off the field. Obviously dropped from 2nd and looking well on course to 10th and we’ve now had a large turnover.

Let the dead wood go but lost Politic on top of that and potentially losing Cass and signed four loan players in their place plus Hussey and Hall and have a lot of injuries again.

Need time to gel again and get players back but whilst this happens the season drifts by and an opportunity for promotion is wasted.

So the only player we have brought in in this window, Zanzala, now needs an operation.
Anyone know of any forwards going spare?

You can have Theo Robinson if you like. We'll even do a 2 for 1 and chuck in Caolan Lavery.

There’s the other problem with Theo besides him being shite. Once he’s signed and through the door good luck ever getting rid of him. Just be grateful you didn’t sign him to a 2 year deal like we stupidly did.

Dale have signed Tahvon Campbell from Woking.

Presumably known to our management team from their time running WBA U23s...

Ahh dear… well on the bright side we could have had that useless Jamille Matt fella instead…

Shame for you that Zanzala's injury has come too late for you to get Tristan Abrahams off us.

In seriousness though it's probably not good news for those of us down the bottom end of the table who are desperate to bring in a forward or two.

In all seriousness only John Askey knows what he was doing stalling on that for Nicky bloody Maynard!
He seems to be really enjoying our time with us and it's warmed his career up again and tbh you strike me as the sort of club he'd like too so would probably also have seen the benefit. Obviously, delighted he's ended up with us, real team player too.

John Akinde joins Col U. I’d say that’s a decent signing.

Not in the same class as Sykes(he did start at the same club, Glenavon) or Whyte. Still a good player on his day, so we'll get paggered by him on Saturday.

Hard to tell.

Won Northern Irish Player of the Year last year so you'd assume he's talented. His time with the club has been difficult. Of all our imports over the last three years (Mark Sykes, Gavin Whyte, Luke McNally) he's been the only one not to cement a place in the side/better himself.

Before signing he was thought of as the best player in the league whilst at Linfield however since joining he's virtually disappeared off the face of the planet. Homesickness led him to go back out on loan last season to Linfield shortly after signing. He rarely, if at all ever makes the bench either; he's not even mentioned as being part of the first team in press and makes occasional cameos for the under 23's. So whether there is anything else to read into that I'm not sure. He's also never (at least to my own knowledge) never done any press so hard to know what he's like as we as supporters hear so little of him.

He does try hard when featuring in occasional PJT games however his impact was little to non-existent. In reality he could turn out to be the best player League Two has to offer, or he could end up like another Pat Hoban (another of our Irish import from years ago) who turned out to be a Conference/lower level League Two striker at best.

Heard a rumour Anthony Grant might be rocking up at Scunthorpe. Just the player they probably need in a relegation fight.
