He did say there is money to spend, but no one wants to sign for us!
I was told something similar that we are having offers accepted but players aren't interested for a number of reasons.

Depends on what you want from a midfielder and how you are set up. Our midfield is very hard working and mainly (apart from Morris maybe) being used box to box, whereas hunt is a pick it up from defence and move it forward quickly and he will try things that sometimes won’t come off which will make him look poor, but also will make him look great from time to time. He is a bit lightweight so could do with a bit more meat on him but also very good set piece taker.
Majority of our fans would welcome him back I think
We’ve made our two signings so he won’t be coming here as I think we’re done.

Hughes at Bradford is under huge pressure, not just to get promotion but to do in style. The budget there demands it. He can't be living off doing silly ball controls in the techincal area when the ball goes out of play for much longer.

No rumours really doing the rounds at EP other than Quigley perhaps departing. DC wants 'something different' in the attacking department which I take to mean he wants some pace....
I said earlier in the summer we were missing a player like Quigley so I wonder if we are in for him.

i see Walsall have signed Danny Cashman on loan. I thought he had some talent but never seemed to get a run of games with us, sadly. It was mostly 20 minute cameos but i thought he looked good when he did play.

I expect Quigley to move on today if we bring in a forward as we apparently intend to do. Quigley was our first choice partner for Madden last season but I'm pretty certain him and Challinor aren't seeing eye-to-eye. Doesn't even make the bench anymore and behind Wootton who the juries majorly out on for me, Crankshaw who's more of a winger by nature than a striker and Jennings who isn't really good enough anymore and was well behind Quigley last season in the pecking order. Something's gone on.

Glatzel signs on loan for the season form Liverpool. Was expecting it to be permanent, but some are suggesting we will sign him on a perm in Jan if he can prove his fitness, which makes sense.

Mark Hughes, under pressure?

Large budget, yes. Massive expectation, yes.

Hughes under pressure, doubt it.

Depends who you ask I guess, we’ve made 17 signings. Last time we made so many changes in a summer we were relegated with the 5th highest budget in the league. A lot I’ve spoken to would happily do it over two years if we saw improvement this year for a final push next. We’ve sacked manager after manager and it hasn’t worked, many of our signings are younger lads on long contracts. We need to build something over a period of time and I think a lot of fans(not all obviously) are beginning to accept that. Which is why most haven’t thrown the baby out with the bath water at our average start.

Plus the guys a multi millionaire if he loses his job I doubt he’ll struggle to pay the mortgage, he’s probably accepted a job at this level because he enjoys football and wanted back in.

After the last few years I can't see Bradford fans or management really having any sort of issue if Hughes gains promotion, in style or otherwise. Other managers have had the same budget and flopped badly so his job is probably safe for as long as Bradford are in the promotion mix-up. Should they fall away in the final weeks then he may be replaced in the summer but otherwise, I can't see it. Probably the second safest manager in the division (after managers whose Dad's own the club of course).

Hughes has shown considerable on field improvements since he’s come in, as long as that stays the case I don’t see any issues - the fans are 100% behind him. Now the window is shut and things can settle down, I’ve no doubt we’ll start to rise the table.

Agree Firthy. A lot of us remember our promotion season under Paul Jewel. The season has 46 not 6 games.

We’ve just signed a new striker meaning Luke Jephcott is now 4th choice. ( We play with one ). Talk on our forum he could be heading to L2 on loan

Tyreik Wright, winger loanee from Villa. Thoughts Walsall, Colchester (Salford) fans? Initial thoughts is this rules out any hope of Pereira coming in.
decent enough player capable at this level for sure.

It’s hard to tell online but sarcasm or genuine?

:animatedf:
What club here wouldn't be excited about an SPL defender? EFL2 = Scots L1, so this is a total cartwheel capture if we're fortunate enough to get him

Sounds like he’s coming to us. Could be a perm or loan.
