He says as Wrexham spend 500k adding a seventh striker to their squad...

He says as Grimsby sit back with their 60 man squad all signed in June.

We have two first team strikers, one of whom is injured. Two National league quality strikers (Dalby and Waters) and a 21 year old who had previously only played in FA Trophy games and 2 minutes in the FA Cup (and is currently our highest scoring forward). So a striker was an important signing.

Sounds like we are done. Tomkinson deal didn't happen which I'm not that arsed about to be honest. Usual deadline day panic signings for us by the looks of it.

Season rests on Cook getting his form back and keeping Pattison fit, because there's fuck all goals coming from anywhere else. Can't rely on bagging one goal a game and hope to pick up points.

Another clusterfuck of a summer window by the worst DOF in the EFL complete.

Crankshaw and Evans departed and we have at least two attacking midfielders out injured at one time so kinda makes sense if it wasn’t so uninspiring and desperate for a striker.

Forest Green fans what is he like?

Skilful, capable of scoring the odd spectacular goal. A lot of our fans would have been happy enough to have got him back a couple of years ago after his loan spell. Needs a kick up the arse at times as he can disappear in games, but if you get him going he should be decent.

We’ve signed nobody and have rumours of losing our best striker for 10 weeks, great day!

Don't think Armstrong is worth 500k. He's a good goal scorer with good work rate but his all round game is limited. Would struggle in L1 I think. Seems strange to spend that amount on him but Wrexham can just flush oil money down the toilet and no one would notice.

Luke Hendrie for us is a good signing. Solid when he was last with us and glad we kept hold of Umerah as well. Been a tough week for us with our two best players ruled out for the season so there's at least that.

Ahem, Jake Bickerstaff also played in the Tunnock’s Deep Fried Caramel Wafer Vase, a competition where he averaged a goal every other game*.

* he played twice

I've not followed what he was up to at Livingston or Salford, but with us I thought he was pacey, stylish and creative, with a gift for intelligent gameplay. We got a couple of really outstanding goals from him. To my mind a really good signing for this level.

He’s absolutely not worth 500k. Probably not even half that but he’s got a great record for staying fit, scoring goals and leads the line well for his size and if he does all that then there is an excellent chance Wrexham get promoted and it’s job done.

I would have much rather spunked ridiculous money on Armstrong than Nick Powell.

As we predicted, there have been some silly transfers into L2 this season. So many big/well known names dropping from the Championship and League One.

I’m astonished we’ve let the deadline pass without a single singing despite the fact we probably needed 3 in yesterday, piss poor

After all this there doesn’t seem to be much enthusiasm from the Wrexham admin about the registration… imagine if it falls through
Still no announcement......

Think we will be tapping the free agent market. Is Darnell Fisher still hanging around?

Biggest needs are midfield cover and Langstaff cover

Has Ollie Palmer gone somewhere?

Excluding our academy grads who never get a sniff, our massive squad is at an eye watering 21 players.

Yet again we’ve signed an army and most of them in the wrong positions. We’ve brought in 3 wingers this week despite playing 3/5 at the back all season and pre season so far. It remains to be seen if this will be a successful strategy, I’m not convinced.

No Palmer is the other first team striker, with Mullin.

With Armstrong (still waiting on confirmation of him) we will have six strikers, but we are expecting at least one (Bickerstaff) to go out on loan to the NL.

I suppose you could technically call MacAlinden a striker but he has never played there for us, and won't be in our 22. No idea why he is still at the club tbh.

I really think pressure is on Parkinson big time now after these signings. The squad is stacked with a solid backup in all positions. Before yesterday I don't think it was essential to go up this season but after what we've done there I think the owners want/demand promotion or else. And rightly so for the outlay they've made.

There's so much quality there now and a good manager at this level would be getting this team up this season.
