Carlisle remind me of us in the 16/17 season where Michael Brown came in charge mid season and we signed a whole new squad in the window (had like 50 signings in 3 windows or something)... still went down mind!
Yeah we’re still going down. Everyone other than the eternal optimists and the deluded nutters (carver) can see this.

Richard Montague gets quite a bit of stick on our forum and I really don't know why. Our recruitment has about a 70% hit rate, not just players doing a decent job for us but players capable of going up a division or two.
I'd be worried if he gets poached because it takes a bit more than pure stats to be right as often as he is.
I’m very surprised he hasn’t been already.

We loaned out one of our 52 goalkeepers, Nathan Harness, to Southend United for a month. He’s truly shit so hopefully a permanent deal eventually.

In other news, we’ve confirmed another deal…yet to be revealed but most people think it’s one of our loanees on a permanent deal.

He’s a bit more ‘in’ than your average sporting director isn’t he? Director of the club and the owners’ business, don’t know if he has any kind of actual financial stake in the thing but he’s a bit more than just a straight employee. Nice bloke as well, sometimes gets the same train back from home games as me and had a bit of a chat a couple of times.

I agree it’s mad people sometimes criticism him. His hit rate, especially with attacking players, is outrageous.

Nope, Tommi O'Reilly on loan for the rest of the season from Aston Villa.

If they are utter determined to keep Williamson and his style I suppose this isn’t as such fully about survival, moreso about getting squad players who play the style and spending the next 3-4 months getting them to gel click and see what is needed in summer.

Where it may backfire is if it’s utterly atrocious the next 4 months and whole squad again needs replaced.

Forgot that bit, which should hopefully tie him to the club more than a bit al straight employee.

I wouldn't be surprised if his work hasn't been noticed higher up the pyramid. Would be a big loss based on all the evidence for NCFC. The criticism he gets is crazy and misplaced. The only valid criticism is the recruitment teams inactivity after we got promoted. Negligent behaviour from Montague and co but his signings have overall been very impressive.

Bore off!

You were saying we’re down a less than a couple of weeks ago. A few signings later, none of which have proved anything recently to suggest they can come in and turn this sinking ship around, and you suddenly start talking about playoffs.:ffs:

You need to wake up. We’re 7 points adrift at the bottom of the football league, we’re out of form, devoid of confidence, can’t score goals, been losing to the teams directly above us. We’re in a far worse position than we were when Simpson came in and miraculously saved us. Far worse. Chucking a load of out of favour, unfit players together and expecting to gel into a top half standard team overnight is absolute pie in the sky.
What’s it going to take for you to realise we’re down? 10 points adrift? 15 points adrift?

There’s absolutely no reason to suggest we’re going to stay up. None whatsoever.

Confirmed, Dilan Markanday recalled by Blackburn and sent to Leyton Orient instead.

Good news for other league 2 clubs.

He's played twice against us in the last couple of years, once for Blackburn in a cup tie and once for you last month. He was very impressive in both games.

I think the thing I like about that though is he’s openly admitted it. He did that Magpie Circle Pod and basically admitted they were too loyal to the promoted bunch and the defence was shit and guess what, we went straight out this summer and signed a keeper and 2 defenders early doors - who have all been fantastic

He also said we missed out on a few last January (mainly 2 CBs which we needed) and he’s signed 3 within the first week or so this time.

Obviously it all depends how the club run stuff, if it really is proprietary models and algorithms then even if a club poached him - you’d be getting the man but not the models and all that

David Adjiboye on loan until seasons end from Peterborough. Can't be any worse than what we got now.

Rumours are that Joe Hugill of Man United will be January signing number 9.

It's one of those 'don't fall in love with a loan player' things but saying that Orient have gone right to the top of my shit list.

Hugill’s funny as he’s had 3 terrible loan moves at Altrincham, Burton and Wigan but he’s still somehow a) at Man Utd and b) able to get another loan move and c) described as ‘highly rated’

He’s scored 5 goals for Wigan this season. By our standards that is prolific.

Our main BBC reporter has interviewed Geza Dávid Turi today and it was essentially a come and get me plea. Talks a bit more about what sort of player he is. Apparently he's a defensive mid who likes to dribble past players. Sounds like a very entertaining cardiac arrest. Says we've had a bid rejected.

I think Connor O'Riordan is coming back on loan from Blackburn. He was fantastic when he was our player but is year at Blackburn has involved 6 months of not playing and then a disastrous loan at Cambridge. As good as he is, I'm not sure we need him, and I don't know if he'll be first choice, but I think Blackburn are very keen on him returning to us so I doubt we're contributing much to his wages.

The recall point has also passed for Filip Marschall and Max Conway, so both will be with us for the season, which is excellent news as they've both been superb.

2 signings for us so far. Ryan Schofield (GK) and Callum Cooke (AM) in positions that we needed some cover so that's good.

Derek has said we've got 2 more loans potentially to come in, one has to be a striker or or else we're buggered.

Unless Knight-Lebel is going back to Bristol City, and I've seen nothing to suggest the situation has changed since Liam Manning said last week he wasn't being recalled, this would be a very odd move indeed.

The other side supposedly interested in are our owners’ other club in Denmark. Hope we get involved, who doesn’t want a random man from the Faroe Islands.

We're also set to sign Manchester United u21s winger, Ethan Williams, on loan later today. Get ready for your "big futures", "exciting signing", etc...
Rumours that he is highly rated.
