No I'm from the Dearne Valley which has Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham council input due to a political balls up but the area itself feels much removed from all 3, hope that clears up a bit of local history and geography.

Good luck with Carroll, he's been a mainstay this season in our terrible defence, no-one is particularly bothered about him leaving and to get a fee for him is pretty surprising.

Perhaps a change of scenery will do him the world of good.

That's what it seems to be. It's a shame because he has more talent than the rest of our midfield combined. I think someone like Gary Johnson could get the best out of him.

You've signed a good player there. Hignett tried to pin the blame on him for conceding a last minute goal to Doncaster by dropping him for a 17 year old in the following 2/3 games, then signed another young lad from Fulham to replace him. Even though the goal was Hignett's fault. So I don't blame the lad for wanting away, clearly not liked by Hignett.

He's a player who liked to play football, keeps the ball on the deck and doesn't panic in possession. His biggest downfall is that he is very very left footed, so he struggles a bit when he has to come inside onto his right foot. He also lacks a bit of pace so can be found out by a pacey winger.

Naturally, most of our fans don't like him because he doesn't ping 60 yard balls up to a 5ft 7 striker.

A change of scenery will no doubt do him the world of good.

We had him for the whole of last season.

Can go past players like they are not there, can put in a good delivery as well. I say "can" because he doesn't always produce. In the whole of last season he maybe had 6 or 7 really good performances. He can often go missing when the going gets tough, he struggles a bit with the physical and defensive side of the game.

He played either as a right winger or a striker for us. Personally preferred him up front down the middle as he's a decent finisher.
