Has George Ray signed a deal yet? A name that's been linked with us.

Only been linked because Davis planned to flog him to you in January. Davis' sacking then saved Ray's Crewe career and we got to bin that shit excuse of a centre half Harry Davis instead!

He's expected to sign a new 2 year deal with us at some point this week. We're entitled to compensation if he decides to look elsewhere but Ray himself, Artell and the local rag expects him to sign a new deal asap.

Actually Barnet do have those Cryogenic Ice Pools... and the indoor training facilities, hotel, new stand are all planned.... BTW show us your Medical X-ray, MRI and CT scanners and we'll call it quits! (Unlikely unless your Man. Utd - the only other club with them!)

Planned doesn't mean built and currently functioning though does it? :pond:

But we do indeed have access to some, though not all, of those other facilities. The catch? We share them with their owner, Reaseheath College, which is adjacent to our training ground.

Alternatively we can form an alliance and look down on the peasantry that have to train at the local park still...

Well OUR training ground has a pool table AND dartboard. And our GK coach is also kitman/advice giver. And we still finished 11 places above Lincoln. And we have good AWAY fans. But we don't like to talk about that.

As usual the other teams fans know our side and management team better than the Cowleys!
They've done an amazing job at Lincoln SO FAR, they have a LONG way to go yet.
Talk of our players going to Prem teams is a hell of jump for them, Championship at a push.
Looking forward to meeting with Evans again, the man's press conferences and post match interviews were always legendary when he was at Boston and I doubt they've changed much or him.

Jesus, I forgot how much WH Stag hates Cheltenham until I read the last couple of pages of this thread.

As for Billy Waters, 16 goals in our team last season, when he barely played up front, shows that he is better than a Conference/lower League 2 type player. The boy runs and runs, and his instinctive finishing is brilliant. Likes to run into dead-ends a lot, and can have games where he's barely involved, but those games are few and far between. With that being said, if he was to go, he's not irreplaceable.

Nothing wrong with being optimistic. I fancy Lincoln to do well. At least 60 points.

I think Lincoln will do well too. Definitely top 7 potential. They have some players that look limited on paper, however, they clearly work as a team and that will bode well for them.

Let's face it, dismantle this division apart and who jumps out as having more quality than the rest? Can't think of anyone in particular, although obviously it's extremely early doors.

What this thread really demonstrates is that good training facilities does not ensure good performance on the pitch

We've been training in a public park, Basford United, and our own pitch.

We've signed midfielder Mitch Rose, formerly of Mansfield and Newport.

I assume he's not been very good. Hopefully he can be here.

I'm happy he's got another league club, I actually thought he was pretty good under Murray but Evans quickly got rid, he could be a decent signing for you.

Rather have him than Clements in midfield, he's got lots of energy and will work hard.

Mitch Rose is a good lad. Tenacious and hardworking and fairly versatile. I think a lot of our fans were disappointed to see him leave because he has bundles of potential.

However, Evans binned him off previously from Rotherham, so it wasn't a surprise when he gave him the boot again. Surprised that Newport shifted him on too though.

Good to hear. As long as he's better than Berrett and Summerfield I think he'll do alright.

Just got a text off the club to say we've signed Callum Evans, presume he's that young Bristol-born LB currently at Barnsley (going off Google) as not up on official site yet.
ETA There now: https://www.forestgreenroversfc.com/news/first-team-news/2017/rovers-land-second-summer-signing
Handy, short a decent left back

Young, versatile and local, came through the United academy. Think left back is where he's most likely to play, which is good cos we need another one to either replace or push Wishart to improve.

That has to be horseshit. No way would he join those dirty cheats and even more so with them being southern and in the same league.

Sorry but I don't buy it!

Anything else?

We've signed Liam Kelly from Orient. Not a huge fan of signing a player from a team whose just been relegated, especially a player who signed for said team last summer and then got relegated in the subsequent season, but have to take mitigating circumstances into account.

Didn't do much for us other than get a 5 match ban for slapping his red card out of the refs hand at Cambridge - was a shocking decision mind. Suspect he may do better on a decent playing surface but will not miss him.

A good signing for you lot, he's a decent player and should really still be in League One. But he went chasing the money with us and got caught amongst all our problems.

The only issue with him is his fitness, he missed 5 months for us last season - 4 months injured and 1 after receiving a 6 game ban for pushing over a Plymouth ball boy.

In October he picked up a very, very nasty hamstring injury and he was out for 4 months. We badly missed his leadership and drive from midfield, decent with the ball at his feet and good at nicking goals here and there. If he'd stayed fit for the whole season, we may have been a bit closer to staying up than we was. He's a good player, just need to hope he stays fit.

Wishart not do the business?

Decent going forward at times, but gets caught out of position too often, doesn't get back quickly enough and lets too many crosses come in from that side. Basically a bit of a liabilty defensively, which we can't afford at this level.

Agreed. If you look back at the goals we conceded this season, a stupid number are from attacks down our left, he just seemed out of his depth defensively and was hit and miss going fwd.

Generally speaking it's basically a playground for knee jerk, impatient, teenage numpties who are incapable of holding any decent discussion.
Sounds like Lincoln's official twitter account.
