Sounds like Devitt is close to signing for Blackpool, sorry to disappoint you Swindon.
We only do cheap
Not convinced you do, the Doyle deal sounds done. Think we're stalling until Vaughan is over the line but Doyle won't come cheap.
Good signing. Decent player who always seemed to do well against us. Quite happy that he's not in the same Division this year.James Hanson to us confirmed, 2 year deal.
Another decent, if not spectacular signing. A lot of concerns regarding his fitness levels but if he can stay fit he could be just what we need, somebody to play off of up top. We seriously missed a player like him last season.
Well he is guaranteed to score against us if he plays. I still have nightmares about our games against Bradford the season they went up. Hanson and Wells were a good a combo as you could really get at league 2 level.
Even though hes getting on a bit I think thats a good signing for this level.
I’m very happy with Hanson and Green up front, not the youngest of course but I think they’ll both do well here.
Astute signing is Hanson. All about the service though, assume you will have a couple of wingers on the shopping list as well.I’m very happy with Hanson and Green up front, not the youngest of course but I think they’ll both do well here.
There are slight murmurings that Fenty is loosening the purse strings a wee bit. If the widely acknowledged wage table of last season is to be believed and we were in about the 16th to 18th bracket and you factor in our highest earner was John Welsh then we might see a bit of wiggle room. Danny Collins has also gone who would have been on a decent whack too. I'd say we've already got one of the best GKs, a very good RB in Hendrie, potentially a very good CB in Ohman and and three decent CMs in Clifton, Whitehouse and Hess (assuming Whitehouse can come back strong) so it might not be as poor as you'd think. I mean, there's not a cat in hell's chance that we're gonna be operating on a top budget but a few shrewd signings like Hanson with the aforementioned players and the youths we're bringing through all combined with the fact that we did a decent job with Embleton on loan (which might trigger other teams to send players to us) might just might mean we have enough about us to challenge the top half. Of course, that's a lot of ifs and buts but I don't think it's necessarily fair at this stage to declare the rest of the squad as probably not being up to it.Yeah that’s a decent L2 pairing, doubt rest of squad will match up to it though?

I think that's pushing it a bit but I do think we're probably in a much healthier position than we have been for a while. Among the problems last season were lack of goals, lack of target man and lack of creativity. In Green and Hanson I think we've recruited way better than our position last season regarding the goals and the big man. The defence needs a lot of beefing up and we are in dire need of a bit of creative spark but the early signs are at least positive.Very strong goalkeeping department as well. Get the bits in between right and they'll be promotion contenders,
It's going to be interesting to see if 32 year Matt Green is gonna be deployed in the same way that vintage Matt Green was. One of the traits I always liked about him was his energy and work rate, I'm just wondering if Jolley might try and reign him in a bit and get some of our younger attackers to run the channels more. They haven't really been prolific in recent years but I think that partnership could be a good one

Wonder if the stadium situation will put Vince off investing much into the squad this season. He seems relatively loyal but the stadium is obviously a huge part of his long term strategy. So with Reece Brown already gone and Doidge apparently about to follow, Nathan McGinley is the next one of our players to be linked with a move, with Huddersfield, the other Forest, Bristol City and Swansea all reported to be interested.
Transfer listed Reuben Reid is also being linked with Chesterfield.

we've been linked with David Ball ex-Rotherham striker.
you realise that you cant sign every player to stop the rest of us?I'd hope we get first dibs on him, good player I thought and one of a very small bunch that came out of last season with any sort of credit.

He is also linked to Blackpool, Walsall and Wimbledon so I doubt we are favourites, but he would be pretty much guaranteed game time. We're giving it a go! I heard the Ball to us rumour today, maybe nothing in it and just people thinking he was with us last season it might have legs.
