Apparently set to sign bostwick from Lincoln

Just the type of midfielder we’ve been missing

Centre half, doesn't have the legs for midfield. Absolute warrior of a manbeast.

Just to add, I guess your going to chuck more money at promotion then?

Well we will certainly be up there budget wise again. Let's hope Coughlan's recruitment is good and we dont have a repeat of last season.

Bostwick is just the type of player we need in midfield, Not sure we'd sign him as a CB unless he's going to be the middle of a 3 as it sounds like we will play a back 3 but the right and left sided players GC likes to have abit of pace about them.

Would be surprised as he hasn't played in CM in the past two seasons for us. I'm sure Luke Imp will know but I seem to remember he played CM was it one game last season where he struggled in there?

He played the defensive midfielder role as part of a 3-man CM away at Yeovil last season IIRC and was good but you'd not get him in a two anymore I don't think. We played so compact under Cowley when he was CM that he didn't really have to move too much and had Woodyard next to him as well who covered every blade of grass.

He's good in CM but unbelievable at CB. I completely underestimated him in that position and had him down as a CM as well.

Tbh, I'd be disappointed if we didn't try and tie him down again and I'd even offer him a two-year deal, even at his age. Only slight concern is that he picked up lots of muscle strains last season in his legs because of a bad back and we only got, what, 20 games out of him this year compared to 50-55 in the previous two.

Fair enough, I had him as a midfielder in my head, guessing he’s been that bit dropped back?

Either way I’m sure GC will know the plans. I think we could become quite an uncompromising side next season

Lockdown Phase 3 Imminent: Shops to re-open, hairdressers and beauty salons to re-open, gyms and leisure centres to re-open and Mansfield to start spending all the money they can't really afford.

Sarcevic has confirmed he is leaving us, for family reasons. As he comes from Manchester, does not take a genius to work out where he is going. Shame, but I understand with young kids why he would make such a decision, and he may even get a better deal at Salford. He is certainly a player who knows how to get promoted out of league 2, I think he has done it at least three times.

So as we train in Rochdale does that mean he's joining us? ;)

Do you guys really train in Rochdale?! Never knew that, how longs that been going on for?!
yeah Hopwood Hall in Rochdale. Not sure how long in total - it was initially set up by Darren Sheridan when he was as joint manager - then it stopped for a bit and we started again there in 2016

Might be more Dave Bayliss than John Sheridan. Played in the same Dale team as Keith Hill...

One of those twitter teases at Crawley. Picture of the back of a players head looking out onto the pitch stating " more news later".

Speculation that it could be Jake Reeves who has just been released by Bradford. If it was a picture of his face I couldn't tell you if it was Reeves anyway.

Go with the gossip and say its Reeves and he is not a bad signing for Crawley. Played forty odd times last season in this league for a better side than us.

Now its going to be some kid from the Western division south who we reckon has a great future.

Turns out it's someone named Sam Matthews from Bristol Rovers. Midfielder who has spent most of the last two seasons with Eastleigh.

Seems he has history with John Yems (our boss) from their time at Bournemouth . Yems says "It's a bit of a coup for us". I say "Who?"

He was very good for Eastleigh in our 2 years in the NL, obviously never had a chance at Bristol Rovers especially with a new manager coming in. But I liked the look of him in the NL.

Salford are the new Bournemouth. Throw huge money around and the media call it a fairytale.

Oh right. Thought you were doubting my rumour it came from a dale player who has also been released
I know nothing about Salford (not having contacts who play football professionally. However our out of contract players (with the exception of the three first year pros, who have been offered another year) have all been released.

The statement from the club confirmed we had been in contract negotiations with Ian H, but hadn't agreed an extension. In view of uncertainty about when next season would start, all senior players who were out of contract would be released, and no offers will be made to any out of contract players until the situation becomes clearer. In other words, not being bankrolled we have to retrench to survive in the current situation re Covid-19.

Of the players released, Callum Camps is more than capable at L1 level, and will probably end up there, or even at one of the more sensible Championship clubs such as Preston. MJ Williams is a good footballing centre back or defensive midfielder, but lacks pace. More than capable at L1/L2, but probably needs to be with someone who play a back 3. Ryan McLaughlin is a very good fullback when fit, which he rarely was during his two years with Dale. Aaron Wilbraham does keep himself fit and would be fine in L2 - possibly a very slightly younger replacement for Kev Ellison at Morecambe. Calvin Andrew is a good bloke, but rarely scores goals, which isn't ideal for a centre forward. Matt Gillam came through our youth system but never really progressed, might be worth a shout in L2 but probably more Conference level.

Hendo to Salford makes sense. They have more money than us, he's Manchester based, and a very smart bloke who makes a good income from his business. It'll go well for a bit, then he'll fall out with them, and probably end up back with us on loan...

Is Nepumoceno still under contract with your lot? Seems to be the best of your somewhat random overseas signings over the last couple of years, and would fit in with our system of very attacking full backs...

It will be interesting what happens with Phil Morais at Oldham/Crawley.

Left Crawley to sign on loan for Oldham as "Londoner Phil, wants to be near his family" ?????

As far as I'm aware he still has another year left on his contract with us. I can't see Oldham or anyone paying money for him at this time so he may be forced to move back down here....far from his London roots...er.

He's a decent player but his wages could be high and I think its fair to doubt his commitment to the Crawley cause.

Morais had a fall out with Dino and stopped being involved in first team so can’t see him coming here unless the football genius of a manager leaves
