Shrimpurh; taking wingers who have played for us. I always remember Andy Ansah who we let go because he wasn't "of the standard required in the Southern League".

Next thing you know he is ripping up division 2 defences for Southend!

Bit before my time, Andy Ansah, though he is a legend down our way.

I await Masi51's input on that one....
Honest ......Better than anything we have. Drops a clanger every now and again, but is rapid and gets away with most errors.
Evatt said he never offered him anything because in all honesty ...is he a improvement on what we have got ? no.

Well i will let the barrow fans judge that.
Raw and still not the finished article, but to have that will cost you £36m like his brother.Yoan is quicker and he would head a brick. Good, good signing.
I would play him in front of the back four a Vierra,Fernandino roll, wouldnt be elegant but he would break many a attack up.

Apparently Jake Taylor ( Forest ) strongly linked with Scunny.

I will buck the trend of slagging off ex -players and say what a superb signing he will be for Scunny. Goalscoring midfielder who i think got 7 in 25 before injury cut his season short.

Was hoping he'd come back to Vale but actually expected League one would be his destination.

Would be a cracking signing, main issue we wouldn't go back there is how many central midfielders we have.

Needs to be played as an attacking midfielder but scored 7 goals i think in half a season, was in the right place for taps in against Crewe and Stevenage for example but scored stunners too, notably at Orient and against Swindon.

Hope he does well.

Hang on a minute, so he's better than anything you have yet wouldn't be an improvement? How does that one work?

Jammy buggers, you got a cracking player there.
Slightly disappointed that Forest seemed to muck him around or i'd like to think he'd of come back to Vale but clearly Askey looked elsewhere.

Good luck Jake apart from the 2 games against us.

We have some sort of link with Forest, we loan a player from there almost every year so I imagine that played a part in him coming here.

Hardly, we've never sold them anyone which is a big part of being a feeder club. If we can get players on loan who help us now and develop them for Forest for the future then it's a win for us both. It happened with Ryan Yates, if Taylor is half as good as him we will be happy.

Reading between the lines in the Bolton News interview, Evatt told him he wanted him, but that Phoenix character said 'no'. Sounds like he's a bit pissed off about it, but judging from our video interview with Zouma, he seems like he knows he's first choice.

If he's as good as is being made out, then our first choice back three is going to be hard to beat.

Same here as their kids main scout is a Vale legend and nephew of our all time appearance holder.

Had Walker, Taylor, Crookes and Edser. Quite useful link but looks like we are avoiding loans this season.

Hes not the finished article...like i say he is raw,but you can see his potential.
Could make Barrow a few quid in a year or so.

Fair enough, make sense, sorry.

We seem to have a number of good options in defence now, so should be solid enough. However up top could well be a sticking point. Other than Quigley I don't see where goals are coming from. If he's out for a significant period we haven't got adequate cover.

Daily Mail are linking Tranmere’s Corey Blackett Taylor with Millwall and Swansea.

He was part of the best defence in L2 the other season, but he was probably the weakest link in that to be honest. Last season he was ridiculous, he got so bad at tackling and decision making that a red card was expected every game.

I did think he would stay in the league though, in fact without everything going on I reckon he would have got another L2 club so he should be a decent signing. No nonsense type of defender, but can be a liability.
