Mullin looked totally unfit the other week at our place and Faal, totally useless but must have some potential.

Mullin getting found out in L1. Now to have a nice sip of coffee and have a look back through previous seasons on the forums and see if there was a wise Grimsby fan dragged through burning hot coals and beaten within an inch of his life by the Wrexham mob for suggesting this was going to happen.

That would be my concern with it if we did go for it (not saying we will). He would probably be a signing that would ensure promotion but then next season you have possibly a player not quite at league one level.

Expensive outlay for short term success and whilst we have spent an awful lot since the Synectics Solutions Sale last spring we do still have a relative philosophy of value for money, sell on potential etc or long term value like Byers who would clearly step up easily.

I've no doubt that Carol would be willing to fund Mullins wages if she thought it would get us over the line, but isn't Mullin beyond his peak now? It would be a very short term solution and you have to wonder how much appetite he would have to move to a new challenge.

Never happening, I don't think he will ever leave now. Has 2.5 years left on his deal and is on money to make your eyes water. We've a lovely Mo Faal on offer if you'd prefer that.

We are signing that young French keeper who was on loan at Donny last season, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name.
It’s easier to say TLT Timothy Lo-Tutala just signed a new contract at Hull so you are going to have to pay big bucks or it’s a loan. Shame as we were hoping to get him back.
We’ve enquired about a striker on loan, rumours from Man Utd, just seen Marty Craig is getting recalled from Barnsley so the hope is we can get him back.

He is actually younger than Stockley!

Seems to be a rumour thats popped up 2-3 times in various places around the club in recent days, most of the signings we made in the summer came as big surprises but this would be up there with Byers in that stake if Carol did go for it.

I think we will spend this window purely to avoid a repeat of the last two seasons.

Fond memories of Dobra robbing Howard of the ball in that 2-0 at our place. Surprised he's still playing! Have you still got Christian Dibbles number?
Playing the best football of his life at the Silkmen……could you be a more attractive offer than being briefed by the luscious locks of Savage…..no way….some things money just can’t buy

Rumours that Rob Street is being highlighted as our windowly Lincoln target.

I think Rob Street (loan), Freddie Draper (loan) and Tyler Walker (loan or permanent) will all be available from us in January.

Street has hardly been near the squad for most of this season so far, but we gave him a four-year deal in the summer so we obviously see him a long term project. I'm not sure I've even seen him play yet but by all accounts he's looked absolutely stinking in some of his appearances (one of which was against you in the BSM Trophy).

Draper's mobility and athleticism, or lack of, means he's found it tough in L1 and he's the sort of build that needs regular football to get into a rhythm so it's best he goes off and plays week in, week out.

Walker has played about 30 minutes of football for us since since getting injured first time round at the end of August 2023 and 20 minutes of those were on Tuesday! He's out of contract in the summer so I suspect we'd even let him go on a free.

We went for numbers up top in the summer after being caught out last season but with seasons generally front loaded, we'll probably opt for quality over quantity for the second half of it and need to have a bit of an overhaul up there in January.

Stockport County.
Draper would be a good signing for a team in League Two, always thought he looked a handful whenever I've seen him.

We need a goal scorer. Like desperately, and I reckon we’ll be willing to pay silly money to get one.

Obviously even if Paul Mullin was available he’s never going to join the worst team in the football league. I know he’s being mentioned by other clubs in this thread, and we would probably pay, but na no chance.

I don’t know what proven players are available and if they’d even entertain the idea of joining this shower of shit, but we could probably offer Luke Armstrong as part of any deal which might be tempting for a club who think they could maybe get the old Luke Armstrong back and firing as well as getting a bit of cash as well.

We would reluctantly let you have Rekeil Pyke if you were willing to part with the 300-400k it would take to prise him from us.

Yeah I said a goalscorer, not a mascot. Even Luke has out scored him this season!

Considering what they pay players that never even get on the bench, Mullin will be on a weekly five figure wage you imagine, he will never get anything close to that post Wrexham.

Heard a few L2 clubs trying to get Tom Nichols off us in January, not really had a sniff this season but came in last January and played a vital role in getting us over the line.

I’m sure there were some rumblings about us wanting Nichols so that could be an option.

We’re also looking likely to sign Wright from Swindon. Not sure if that’s already been mentioned but supposedly his dad is saying it’s pretty much a done deal.

Heard the same. Think him and Lindsay have a good working relationship and we've also heard the father Wright chat. He's clearly a classy ball playing defender that would suit Franchise down to the ground.

As with many of our playing assets, we tend to only keep them for 6 months before they move on, probably via a healthy sell on into god only knows which of the criminal lurkers pockets.

Grimsby’s Rekeil Pyke likely to go to Morecambe in the transfer window, possibly Donovan Wilson too

We're one of the clubs according to one of our forums. Might just be a lazy link with Sharpe being here.

On a decent wack those two , are Morecambe able to pay bigger wages now ?

I did hear Artell say after the game against them he's been speaking to Adams quite a bit possibly about them then

Yeah he has been a revelation since we got him in from Burton Albion, really changed the way things are done.

Haven't had chance to listen but heard he mentions the playing budget is between £4-5 million which is an increase on what we are usually paying out!

Yeah I was impressed , I am with any club that seem to have a longer term plan which seems the case - using the money well is so important ; there have been loads of clubs who have just spunked decent amounts to get worse . Reckon you have a good few years to look forward to

You still got the owners who Carol and Kevin supported and mentored when they came in 3-4 years back? The two blokes?

We certainly have a plan with the big Campus project in the future and despite big spending we have had big income with Dipepa coming in for just under £1 Million plus add ons and the sell on for Joel N'dala to come in plus the boys we sold to Villa and Newcastle for big money (both played for England U16 the other week for the first time).

So we are not going all or bust with it and has a structure to it, had a bump in the road last season and have learnt from it but its better fun now than rattling round the bottom of L2 like we was doing when Carol came in.

I like Wright. As Agombar said a classy ball playing defender. He does have a tendency to have the ball go over the top of him, a misjudgement thing. Decent player.

Can't beat em, sign em from Dons here.

Yeah still here very solid owners , we seem to be finally getting the playing side right to a degree aswell .
