Sounds like Lapslie is a done deal. Don;t think he's the type of signing we need tbh.

Who knows why, but it hasn’t worked out for him and in his two year spell we’ve rarely seen anything impressive from him. Probably will work out for him back in the north and wish him all the best regardless.

I wonder if the other player might be Jonny Williams (if you’re signing two from us). Someone else who has massively failed to impress given his pedigree.

I seriously hope we're not signing Williams. Don't think that would go down well with any of our fans.

First Notts rumour is Tayo Edun, left wing back at Charlton

We're signing Ashley Hay from Brentford on loan. Forward who has scored 6 goals in 5 games for their u21s this season. Sounds exciting, but League football is a different beast to u21s.

We're also apparently signing a right back on a permanent deal - no name yet though (could be Lewis Payne who we currently have on loan from Southampton)
The right back is Darragh Power from Waterford in the League of Ireland.

That is the extent of what I know about him.

Disagree, think he will be a good addition to our midfield options.
I like Lapslie but his fitness has been a major issue during his time with us.
The fact he has been on the transfer list since the summer suggests we won’t be too upset at him leaving.
Wish him well though.

Seen Unofficial Vale on Twitter hint at some lad called Duffy from Lincoln being looked at. Sure I might have seen him at some point but nothing stands out there.
He's been absolutely stinking this season, full of errors and brain farts. He started the season at LWB (admittedly not really his position, he's more of a winger) and then got dropped after two or three calamitous games. Came on as a sub at Shrewsbury a few days ago and punched the ball to give away a penalty. Wasn't exactly great at the back end of last season either when he came on.

Never really been L1 standard, looked waaaayyy out of his depth this season. He's been used mainly as an emergency squad player as a sub and for BSM games. His time here is probably drawing to a close.

Tayo is a good player. We signed him from Fulham U21's on a free under Appleton as a CM and he was excellent but then got converted to a LB and struck up good partnerships with Anthony Scully and then Brennan Johnson.

He's not the tallest or most physical of players, which is why we were all surprised he ended up at LB, but technically it always seemed that his first touch was away from a player, it was very rare he got tackled. We then sold him to Blackburn after a year for £400k or something but seems to have struggled with injury since that point and not really had a decent run of games in those 4 years or so.

We always sign players with fitness issues, so he will fit in well then.

I've always been impressed with him when I've seen him play. He seems to be the kind of player that will press well and get into the opposition players faces, the type our fans will quickly warm to if that's the case.

I reckon he will be replacing a similar player in Jamie Walker, a fans favourite, but not had the best of seasons and many think he will be on his way next month.

Always liked Lapslie when he played for Mansfield and certainly the type of player we are missing shame we aren’t in for him

That’s certainly the sort of player he is.
Very busy and a pain in the arse to play against.
Shame that, for whatever reason, we never really saw the best of him.

Lapslie looked garbage when he came on against us earlier in the season. Has always caused problems previously when I've seen him though. Bradford's transfer activity has been a bit basic for some time now and this kind of falls into that category for me. An aright signing that everyone has heard of. If Bradford had a decent recruitment policy with their crowds/budget (I know they're hamstrung by rent to a certain extent) they'd have been up and out of this division yonks ago.

I'm very happy with the signing of Lapslie actually. I have a good feeling he will be a good fit for us. Likely to make his debut for us against you on Saturday!

He's not well liked by our fans after a couple of shithouse shifts against us so could well be one to rile us up.

Good, it's about time we had a player like that.

Should be a good atmosphere on Saturday, you lot are usually the noisiest visitors each season.

Not sure why the police always insist on early kick offs these days though.

I think they do it so that GTFCFish can't make it.

Completely agree.

Decent win against struggling Barrow on NYD and it sets this game up against Grimsby quite nicely.
