Wish I could comment on his footballing ability but he rarely played and the main memory I have of him is him callously moving a tribute shirt the game after George Baldock died. He won’t be missed for that reason alone, even if he is excellent for you.

Seems a lovely bloke.

We signed him this time last year, don’t expect goals.

Or effort.

Gillingham fans in fairness this time last season warned us of his lack of well most things football related and were firmly proved correct.

Wish him well and hope it works out for him and swindon but i’m very pleased he’s moved on.

Completely disagree, he helped us over the line last season he either scored or assisted near every time he started for us. That goal against FGR was vital.

He definitely does not have the work rate for a Clough side with a high press but it’s not down to lack of effort, and he’s a good L2 player

Not sure why GK's wouldn't? But the ruling around U21's is changing next season. At the minute, any U21's don't count at all whereas from next season, if an U21 player is classed as a first team player (based on a criteria around how many appearances they've made) they will count as part of the squad size.

44.9.2 The following Players do not need to be included in the Squad List to be eligible to play in League Matches:

(a) in respect of Championship Clubs, any Under 21 Player (save for any Under 21 Player who is registered with the Club on a Temporary Loan Transfer); and

(b) in respect of League One Clubs and League Two Clubs:

  1. (i) any Under 21 Players; and
  2. (ii) goalkeepers.

His goal against FGR was in fairness an important one, but it shouldn’t mask 3 goals and 3 assists in 19 games in a Mansfield side that created and scored goals for fun last season - it tells its own tale for me.

If i were in a relegation battle he’s exactly not the type i’d want, poor work rate and questionable attitude.

Again, hope it works out for Tom and Swindon mind.

We do tend to be able to get a tune out of loan strikers for whatever reason. Is Nichols out of contract end of this season? Also with Clarke there he's stepping into a relatively familiar captain.

Aye, how’s Ollie doing for you? we’ve had times when we’ve missed him - he wouldn’t have been out of place in L1.

If you give him a run of games there’s no reason as to why he couldn’t go on and do something - quite a confidence player, he’d fallen out of favour with clough, if Holloway demands a high work rate it could be interesting to see how it pans out.

Pretty much entirely off the bench, and I like I said I think he either or scored or assisted nearly every time he started so your being a little unfair.

there’s absolutely nothing to suggest a questionable attitude, but I do concur maybe not the best type for a relegation battle.

Nah, Tommy Leigh is shite. Good we got a fee for him because I would have thought he'd be released soon enough anyway. Next.

Not having this.

Shite for MK, absolutely - but shite shite, nah.

You don’t go from being involved in almost 40 goals in 120 app (in the league above) to shite!

He certainly went under the radar at the start of the season, however, since Holloway has come in he's been brilliant and along with Smith our most influential player. The only issue as you probably know is fitness. He's prone to a niggle and rarely lasts 90 minutes

How is Tshimanga getting on?

Never the same since his injury IMO.

Jarvis to Notts is an interesting one. On the one hand, a tad underwhelming but you'd imagine the super computer has spotted something. Three and a half years indicates a bit of a development project. However I'm gonna have to say...

Jarvis to Notts: BAD SIGNING

Son of Cod Any chance we can get your verdict on this one before we get excited.
Yeah I've fallen a bit behind here haven't I? Need to do a little catch up but for this one I am saying...

Mellon to Bradford: GOOD SIGNING.

Jemiah Umolu linked with us, apparently in talks on loan from Crystal Palace, a striker. Think that would do under the over used HIGHLY RATED bracket

Yeah, we did have that and it was annoying as often affected his consistency but overall his play more than compensated for that.

Glad he’s doing better, he’s a good lad.

Think this brings me up to date...

Scott to Carlisle: BAD SIGNING
Adedokun to Cheltenham: GOOD SIGNING
Street to Donny: BAD SIGNING (DIDN’T WANT HIM ANYWAY)
Harratt to Fleetwood: GOOD SIGNING
Hutchinson to Wimbledon: GOOD SIGNING

Also Walsall fans, we're apparently trying to gazump you and bring Freddie Draper in.

Robertson is surely a write off at this point, can’t stay fit for more than two minutes. Didn’t even make it back to the pitch this time. Shame because he’s a decent all-round midfielder but he’s not exactly contributed anything this season so far so I think we might be okay there if Edwards is back soon.

Shame about Ness, he looks promising, but personally prefer Macari and his quality on the ball in that position anyway so if he’s not out for too long it’s not a massive loss. Probably do need one more centre back now though.
I think we have the numbers without Robertson still, but I'd like to bring in a midfielder who has a bit of strength to them if possible.

I didn’t believe it was possible either but Leigh managed it.

Our attacking signings are either rank bad (we somehow still have Junior Morias under contract!) or the league’s hottest property within six months. No in between.

Not sure we need another forward just get our existing ones the ball in more dangerous spots.

Looks like now agreed to let Dan Jones remain at Gateshead for the rest of the season and with his contract up that would bring the end of his time at Vale.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he turns out to be an absolute banger.

One of our loanees Benicio now confirmed as returned to Brighton. Very talented young player just don’t think we ever got to fully utilise it properly.

Benicio Baker-Boatey has returned to Brighton with his loan cut short, not sure who called it but he is injured I believe and struggled for game time, made a huge impact as a sub, notably against Fleetwood and performed well in the early games but then went off a bit, had a stinker at Accrington and didn't really recover from that.
