We've been linked with Freddie Draper now at Lincoln who had a terrific loan spell with Walsall last season. Based on his performance against us last season, who rather have Draper than Taylor. I'm sure if Draper is available though, Walsall would be back in for him?

Whilst Taylor doesn't exactly excite, I think it'd only be as cover.

Draper on the other hand, would be much more interesting.

We've supposedly been back in for him, but nothing concrete really.

Perhaps no surprise if Bradford have dropped Draper into discussions if we're also talking over Benn as well.

Be surprised if there's any movement on Draper until the end of next week at the earliest. We have two cup games coming up (Birmingham and Bolton), so any incomings for us might be cup-tied but also we only have three fit strikers, of which Draper is one of them. We let Street go to Doncaster fairly early in the window, not sure we'd do the same in our current situation with Draper.

During his time with us, he was right up there amongst the worst EFL players I had ever seen. Yes, he was new to the UK and a youngster but looked clueless. Scored a few in the NL this season but he will have had to improved by a considerable amount to be remotely useful

We've 2 triallists at the moment who I'm led to believe are pretty much signed up, and another 2 due to come in soon.

Apparently, one of these triallists has already been reported to have signed for another league 2 club. Ever the pragmatist, Holloway has said -

"I have already read that one of them is signing for another club in our league, so whoever they are [who said that] are going to be spinelessly wrong."

I'm sure we'll find out more. Just hoping it won't cause too much BEEF.

Two midfielders Jack Earing and George Hall both out until April after having ops.
I'd imagine we will now definitely be after a midfielder this month.

Yea I'm a little bit underwhelmed by that one. Still, it's only a loan isn't it, and it's just a stop gap till we can get Grigg and Madden back from injury. It should be an upgrade on Drummond at the very least.

He’s an unknown but I’m happy about the age and he’s been banging them in for Southend. Low risk loan. Rather this than £350,000 on Stones.

I don't like the fact he's completed 1 90 minutes for a team struggling for goals, is he not fit? Like you say though, zero risk for us and it did need to be a loan rather than a buy at this stage.

Unless Pepple has improved massively then no way in a million years is he League 2 standard.
One of the worst players I've seen play for us and that's saying something given some of the shite I've watched here down the years.

Ex-Schalke striker, Matthew Hoppe, has been released by Middlesborough. Given our links, our fans on Twitter are waxing lyrical about it. I guarantee none of them will’ve even heard of him until today! :D

Odd one. Southend fans very unhappy to see him go.

Do MK Dons have a recruitment department or do they just import every new manager’s contact list?

We got taken in by it as well, but teams seem so obsessed by Crawley last season. They had an amazing run, it happens, but MK have traded in their manager and half a team for replacements from a side who finished lower in the league than them over a full season.

Doncaster fans? What’s Matthew Craig like then?
Too good for you!

In all honesty he certainly played a massive part in our run to the playoffs last season and a lot of our fans hoped he’d be back. Plays a DM role and helped gel our midfield together allowing Molyneaux, Bailey, Adulaken and Biggins to make forward runs. Didn’t work out at Barnsley but he did get injured early on.
