Too good for you!

In all honesty he certainly played a massive part in our run to the playoffs last season and a lot of our fans hoped he’d be back. Plays a DM role and helped gel our midfield together allowing Molyneaux, Bailey, Adulaken and Biggins to make forward runs. Didn’t work out at Barnsley but he did get injured early on.

So I didn’t see this happening due to Reed, but he’s been brought in as cover for him. Will probably come on when Reed picks up a yellow card.

See how he goes for him but he’s got near zero chance to displace Reed so may find game time rare unless Clough moves him in new positions.

It will suck but he's too good for League Two isn't he.
Too good for Orient aswell. Was at Spurs academy though wasn’t he so I wonder if a move back closer to home for rest of season would be quite appealing to him.

We will see what happens anyway, I know he rejected league 1 clubs for us in the summer so who knows, it might happen again.

Crawley 2.0 is still ongoing as it looks like we’ve signed Jay Williams.
We now only have 2 of the starting 11 from Wembley.

Jay is a defensive midfielder. We haven't seen him for a while. 2 rumours doing the rounds . First is he has tendonitis in his knee (often strapped) and the second he went apeshit after a really poor team performance v Northamton and told a few home truths and smashed the place up. Both could be a load of crap though.

Good on the ball and doesn't mind getting stuck in. Will pick up yellows for fun though and likes the odd punch up with the opposition players. He was doing OK in league 1.

Yeah Pepple was absolutely wank for us but he was also a youngster who had moved over from Canada having been shipped over from a genuine contender for one of the best places in the world to live in Calgary and got dropped off in Luton then loaned out to Grimsby, poor lad was probably thinking what the fuck am I doing with my life tbh. Now they've gone and given him Southend and Chesterfield after giving him Bromley and Inverness last season. He clearly wants it.

The one thing he should get is chances, with the players in behind. From what I can see he's a big strong lad who doesn't mind a physical battle, puts himself and isn't afraid to shoot. Like you say, he's doing his best to make a fist of it so fair play on the lad. Maybe something has clicked with him at Southend? Maybe not. We just need to kick the can down the road till our strikers are back.

Silly money or keep him at this stage I reckon. If Colcloughs fitness could be relied upon and off field issues weren't there, I'd let Berry go, but they're not so we kinda need him. Especially if Markanday goes.
Way I see it is, his age coupled with his purple patch at the start of this season means his stock this window is probably the highest it’s ever going to be whilst he’s here. So I’m with you that if a decent fee comes in, we should cash in, but include a decent sell on fee in there too incase he does find some consistency and get a big move further down the line.

The facts are, that when we’ve a full squad to pick from, he doesn’t get in the first XI, but unfortunately where we’re at with the injuries means selling him could be pretty damaging to us unless we have a replacement lined up & ready to go immediately.

I saw a figure of £600k on Twitter, which I’d be very surprised at tbh… but if it’s anywhere near that, we need to get that bid accepted asap before they change their mind!!

That’s honestly exactly what we need, we’ve been too soft in the middle with too much reliance on technicality that just hasn’t worked consistently so someone like Jay Williams is a great fit on paper.

We also need a leader there so while I hope we can reign in the anger a bit and hopefully having some big names for the level in our dressing room can help there, I don’t want to lose that completely.

I’d say good luck but I actually hope it’s an unmitigated disaster there and he comes back to us in the summer after being released by Blackburn.
