We’ve apparently joined the list of clubs in bidding for Ilkeston striker Tom Cursons. Scored 27 goals already this season.

He’s basically Macaulay Langstaff 2.0 so it would be very fitting - was struggling to get into Gainsborough’s side 2-3 years ago - went to Long Eaton, got converted to a proper striker and hasn’t been able to stop scoring since

Looks like by Vale's latest tweet a return from one of our academy players who have moved on, so could be Gibbons, Dipepa, McDermott or even Rhys Walters maybe.

Now Confirmed - Rhys Walters (Midfielder) signs a three and a half year deal after failing to agree a deal in the summer. As a player I am chuffed, he was outstanding when he broke through in the cups games last season including a stunning performance against Wrexham in the Pizza Cup but talks on a new deal stalled in the summer and had been on trial at Norwich...

Obviously will have to prove his worth and fans will maybe not be so quick to welcome him but we will see.

Mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand he is a promising player. On the other it really hasn’t sit well with me how these contract negotiations have been dragged out over a year and he was hawking himself around various U21 setups before realising maybe his agent was filling his head with bollocks about how in demand he was. Got a lot to prove tbh.

Yeah its a tricky one, he is talented and displayed in multiple cup games against teams at this level last season he can really perform at this level but will have to build bridges with the fan base over the stalled contract, he would of really got good game time in recent months and helped us out with Garrity/Byers/Harper out.

A good place to start would be him starting out his first interview with “sorry for the messing everyone around but I’ve fucked that useless prick Leon Constantine off as my agent now”. This is the thing now how long we are going to need to get him up to speed among other things. Wasted valuable time and experience the last few months.

Jemiah Umolu now confirmed on loan, Crystal Palace striker who is top scorer in the EPL 2.

Interesting as now have 5 strikers but usually only play 1 up front.
He can actually play as a winger aswell as a forward. He has 9 goals in 10 games in the premier League 2 academy division. He also scored against Gillingham in a football league trophy game this season.

Walters is a decent player and probably would have had 20 appearances this season if he had signed his contract in the summer. He would have played quite a few games whilst Byers and garrity were out injured and we may have ended up not signed rekeem harper aswell.

Loves a loan signing does Darren Moore. He'd be lost if there was ever a change to that rule, pretty sure he models himself on Graham Turner when he was Hereford manager.

Think we only have 4 to be fair with BBB gone back which is about standard for us, arguably less than we've had in recent seasons.

Speculation about Barnet’s Nicke Kabamba joining us. Barnet have signed a ready made replacement in Lee Ndlovu from Boreham Wood so . . . . .

Tommy Leigh should be announced tonight, according to one of our forums. Alexander said in his press conference that we don't need another striker. Disagree with him on that.

McKenna has let the cat out the bag and basically confirmed Janoi Donacien is coming here shortly, on a permanent possibly by his wording.

6 weeks ago I would have said that was disastrous for you. Loans should really be an addition to the squad that provides the odd contribution and not the focus of a team, as we found out last year.

However, because you're miles ahead, there's virtually no chance of you dropping out of the top 3, so you can just scrabble by with what you've got until the end of the season.

Really good player unfortunately his body doesn’t seem physically cut out for the men’s game yet. Played 4/5 games and the broke down each time with mid term injuries keeping him out for 6/7 weeks each time.

Will go on to have a very good career though I think once his bodies up to it.

Dan Adu-Adjei and Dominic Sadi both recalled from their loans by Bournemouth.

Obviously don’t want either to experience a toxic relegation so fair enough.

Dom Sadi will be the bigger miss of the two. One of the bright lights of a terrible season.

I get people being annoyed with Walters, but his agent was clearly the problem. What's done is done. His performances in the cups last year were brilliant at times. The best I saw was actually Burton FA Cup replay. He was on another level to a few decent L1 players that night. He was taking the piss at times. Could have been massive for us these last few months with injuries. Hope he shows those kind of levels again if and when he gets another chance.
