Very poorly, Millwall was a terrible move really, doesn’t suit him at all and he’s been in and out the side all season but I’ve always suspected he’d struggle in the Championship anyway so I don’t think it’s entirely circumstantial

Considering how he struggled against the better sides in L2 I don’t think he can cut it in L1 either to be honest. I was bemused when Millwall signed him, terrible recruitment.

League One looks his level as he's too good for League Two as he showed. Put him in the right side and setup and he will score plenty.

I was happy with the reported sale price at the time and even moreso now. Spent a fraction of funds on the Gambian Prince who could easily handle the league above.

Gets much more and it becomes very hard to say no for any League Two player, though. And if there’s one thing we’re good at then it’s signing strikers.

Nice being in surplus isn’t it, we are running at £800k profit in the transfer market this season, and Will Evans at £150k up to £200k is proving a steal too.

We only signed him when Jodi Jones got injured in September, and to be honest he offered absolutely nothing until Christmas. Struggled to get into the team and anonymous when he did get a chance. Then we picked up an injury in the warm up at Cheltenham and threw him in, and he put together two or three very promising performances in a row. If he’d done that a bit earlier then I think we might have kept him, but with Jones back and a new signing in that position he’d have been well back down the pecking order again in all likelihood. There’s something in there though.

As a club who’ve been caught out multiple times in the past by ‘they’ll be back in the summer’, I’d argue that 750k+ is a mad amount of money to turn your nose up at.

It is very good money for this level and difficult to ignore but he's clearly very good and has a lot of upside IMO. Very tough to replace especially in such a short window.

As mentioned receiving a sizeable (OTT) fee recently for Crowley softens the need to sell but whatever happens we will have a plan. Great to have players who command big fees now. It had been too long.

I'd agree. He's obviously done well but he looked a bit of a donkey when he played against us in all honesty. If he's worth a million plus then Garrity is worth 5 million!

The bigger picture - 12 goals, 4 assists in 20 games and a pain to play against for centre halves.

If Garrity is worth £5 million then what's Byers worth?

I would definitely rather we keep him and go for it this season, but his injury record before coming to Notts wasn't the best so that is an additional risk to whether the offers come in in the summer. Unless there's someone already lined up though it would be practically giving up on the season to only have McGoldrick as a recognised striker. Looks like we might play Jarvis there but he's not got a lot of history playing through the middle.

I guess I'm saying if he's capable of looking like a donkey in even a handful of games then he's not really worth the price tag. He's literally had 5 half decent months in a poor standard league 2, I'd be wary if I was a league one side trying to sign him, never mind Championship.

We had Pope a few years ago who was an absolute nightmare to play against and scored something like 18 before Christmas one year ...there's no way he would have fetched even 500k.

Jatta might turn out to be a really good player but selling him for £1 million plus after 5 months...nah.

I think it'll work this, and I like the contract. I was slightly worried we'd offer him a 3 year deal or something crazy. The big thing is it hopefully freeing up Naylor to go midfield which we haven't been able to do almost all season and that's our best player.

He scored 5 and assisted 2 in 10 games last season too to be fair, a better return than this season based on goals per minute.

Nothing when he's never on the bloody pitch.

Garrity would walk in any side in this league. An absolute workhorse. We've only won 1 out of 9 games when he's been injured. Instrumental.
