Brandon Cover has returned to Leicester. Started like a house on fire, scored a couple of goals but then his performances massively dropped off. Now Mitch Clark is back fit, he's never going to start, and I prefer Tom Sang and Kyle John there anyway.

Excellent when he first came in, couple of good goals, that chip against Swindon considering it was his first senior goal was sublime, but dropped off since the Gillingham defeat and never reached the same level again really which is a shame. Wish him well, but with Mitch Clark back and in the form he is in and Kyle John and Tom Sang who can do a very capable job there then its hard to see a place for him.

Jatta is really good. Composed finisher, massive, links play pretty well and is deceptively quick. It’s an all-round package where you can see why clubs would be willing to make a big investment on him.

I do think there’s something about playing upfront for this Notts being the easiest job in football, though. We are extremely good at creating an endless stream of tap ins for whoever is upfront.

750k is mad money for Jatta, would be snapping their hands off, had a decent year but fairly modest stats before that and its not like he is a youngster coming through. Surprised a Championship club is eying up but could spend that money very well.

That's like at school when you copy someone's work then change a few words around.

Only messing mate. ;-)

Nothing when he's never on the bloody pitch.

Garrity would walk in any side in this league. An absolute workhorse. We've only won 1 out of 9 games when he's been injured. Instrumental.
Garrity is class, injured this season, 1 win in 9 league games whilst out, injured last season no wins in 2 months, the season before 1 or 2 wins in 2 months plus he was out?

Double figures from midfield in a relegated League One side last season, leader, literally makes the rest of the players give that extra few % with his attitude.

Byers hopefully from Saturday onwards we will get to see what his worth is! Frustrating season so far there.

I guess I'm saying if he's capable of looking like a donkey in even a handful of games then he's not really worth the price tag. He's literally had 5 half decent months in a poor standard league 2, I'd be wary if I was a league one side trying to sign him, never mind Championship.

We had Pope a few years ago who was an absolute nightmare to play against and scored something like 18 before Christmas one year ...there's no way he would have fetched even 500k.

Jatta might turn out to be a really good player but selling him for £1 million plus after 5 months...nah.

Most quality big men can look like donkeys in an handful of games, it's called having a bad game. Darren Ferguson a prime example.

Half decent? Not sure many fans who have seen lots of times would agree with that.

And how old was Tom Pope when he scored 18 by Christmas?

Plus he's not exotic like our Gambian, he's from Stoke on Trent.

Team of the Year player incoming. I thoughts Byers was best midfielder in league. Could Garrity be challenging?

We haven't signed anyone, but got a mention in a Faroese football blog re. our interest in the best midfielder in their top club - no one at this level can compete with our historic fishing connections into the Icelandic and Faroese leagues...

Jatta looked good against us the other week for half a game anyway can see why others would be looking at him from higher divisions pace power and can finish from what I've seen.

Jatta not being good is the most scorching take of the season I think.

Jacob’s point about us manufacturing striker production does have me morbidly curious though, maybe we’ve unlocked a free money glitch.

Jatta was outstanding against us - not sure he's worth £750k, but we sold Will Goodwin for £400k last season and he had a good 3 months to be fair.

At the other end of the spectrum, we only received £250k for Alfie May and he'd walk into literally any team in this league and arguably League 1 these days.

Pointless having that amount of ability if you're never on the pitch to showcase it, bud.

Owes us a massive 4 months now.

It also helps that Notts seem to be allowed to keep goals scored by offside players and also keep goals which were controlled by hand in the build up.

As a club who’ve been caught out multiple times in the past by ‘they’ll be back in the summer’, I’d argue that 750k+ is a mad amount of money to turn your nose up at.
He's worth more. There's not a defence in L2 can hold him. If we get promoted he will instantly be worth £1million. If we were in the National League he'd be worth £350,000.
Same player just values change based on the division.

I've seen Gary Lineker and Jurgen Klinsmann have nothing games against Notts, honestly both looked meh. It's meaningless, they were both world class.
Unless he snaps a cruciate, Jatta is going places, hopefully in the summer after helping us to promotion.

How's McAtee doing for you lot?
Getting slaughtered as not good enough and a waste of a 1m,but in fairness Evatt played him out of position Scored three or four may step up with a new manager. We now have 5 players who are like peas in a pod in Collins, Mcatee, Randall, Gomes and lolos and no physicality with Adeboyejo who is simply poor.

It's amazing some folk still fall into this trap, time and time again.

Langstaff finished last season as top scorer and underperformed his xG. Jatta is the hot property in the division and could easily end as top scorer, and is underperforming his xG. They’re both very good players at this level with decent movement, but they don’t create many goals for themselves out of nothing.

I think we’ve unlocked a glitch in how teams recruit so much based on data and styles of football now. Say we do sell Jatta for this kind of fee, that’d be over £2m for Langstaff, Crowley, Nemane and Jatta. I think AJ is the most likely of them to do it at a higher level, but none of them are that young and at no point have we been an all conquering team in this division, for reasons that they all contribute to. But look at their underlying numbers and it makes us look like Brazil.

Jatta got much more about him elsewhere to play a higher level, you need better athleticism and physicality than what Langstaff got to be good in L1, Jatta looks like he’s got that.

That being said, if Plymouth have bid £750k I think that’s a sensational offer all considered.

Yeah Jatta’s ability to hold the ball up and bully defenders makes him more of a prospect at a higher level. But I’m not sure he’s scored a goal for us from more than about seven yards out, and that was a header.

Maybe that’s more to do with what sort of team you are than the player himself.

It absolutely is, that’s kind of the point. We don’t actually score that many from elsewhere and don’t shoot more than other teams, but over the last two seasons we just create ridiculous numbers of clear chances for whoever we have upfront.
