£600k seems a bit low, hope its much higher, especially considering we'd have to give you a sell-on fee.
There was talk here he would have moved in Jan had he not been injured (and is still injured) but release fee is rumoured at just over 1M.
I dont like the thought of signing players with a release clause even if its the only way they sign. They will always have an eye on the next move
How has Conteh performed?

I was told there were two Championship clubs interested in January but injury put any deal on ice. Both could be back in for him in the summer.

Players may well have an eye on the next move, but conversely they know they need to perform or any upwardly move is pie in the sky.

I dont rate him as much as some other gasheads do and I was expecting more given the rave reviews from L2.
He is very limited in what he can do and is never going be involved with any goal contributions.
I certainly don't think he is anywhere near ready for the Championship but I guess the potential is there.

He had a unique ability that players couldn't press him because he was so technically efficient with back to goal especially is he a stand out at league 1 in that sense ? My main frustration was he never really looked to progress play and gave it either sidewards or backwards everytime it was frustrating as he looked like he could be a more adventurous player or at least had the ability - maybe he's destined to have the career of a 'water carrier' maybe a league up like Makelele was back in the day

He does seem very calm on the ball for a youngster and can get away from tight situations - definitely potential there. Far from a stand out though which is why I dont think he is ready yet for a higher league.
Many here were saying the same things in that from he goes sideways or backwards and doesnt progress the play - i think water carrier sums him up perfectly.
We have signed Matt Butcher on loan from Wycombe who does give us a lot more, so I wouldnt be gutted if we sold him on in the summer.

Divides opinion across our fanbase does Oldaker, but IMO he’s an excellent footballer that really makes us tick when we’re at our best. Was poor Saturday vs Crewe but he wasn’t alone in that respect.

Hope we can tie him down, but doesn’t surprise me there’s plenty of clubs in this league and the one above tracking him.

A town fans opinion on Oldaker is like the ultimate football litmus test.

I like Oldaker, when he plays well the team does, but his reluctance to play a forward pass doesn't half wind me up sometimes. Safe pass 99 times out of 100. His stats must fantastic so on that basis I'm not surprised other teams are looking at him with the way data drives analysis in the game these days.
