I always forget, which Gary Roberts is/was the pisshead?

The ex Vale one who ended up in Malta breifley. Mega talented and Premier League potential but a complete wasted career. We sacked him IIRC for turning up to training pissed a couple of times.
From the same source that told me about Hawkridge and Alessandra is that our new signing tomorrow is CB Alex Lacovitti from forest on initial 6 month loan
Apologies if I'm being a bit slow on this one, but I see Forest are going to be making an improved bid of £1.8m for James Justin.
Wow.
Jack Stacey seems to be a perfectly adequate replacement at this level.Who's your second choice if you do lose him in this window?
Also reported by Pete O'Rourke, who generally gets Notts related stuff spot on. Don't really know anything about him.
Looks like we're going to make an offer to Gibraltar trialist Liam Walker as well.

He was seen on most weekdays outside of the bookies in Mansfield with a fag on, inbetween going in and blowing his wages on the nags.Yeah he signed for Mansfield and was clearly incredibly talented, think we got a good season out of him before he did something stupid.
So worrying considering we've only got 18 senior players to begin with. Surely it'll be Ellis and a midfielder, hopefully replaced by a decent forward and defender, though most likely a few young trialists.Apparently we may have to sell players if we're to bring anyone else in, and there has been interest from other League 2 clubs in two of our senior pros.
My guess is Mark Ellis to FGR and possibly Nicky Adams, though I doubt we'd sell him I can imagine some club (probably Mansfield) wanting him.
Is it just me or are a lot of squads way too small? Considering there is no loan market outside the windows this season? I feel like this is gonna come round and bite a few teams on the arse. It's a fairly major change in the way most teams approach the transfer market, however it doesn't seem like many sides are building bigger squads than usual. So worrying considering we've only got 18 senior players to begin with. Who are Mansfield best players? and do you have any good strikers after letting Green go?
I imagine now that we've let slip that we're brassic, Mansfield scouts will start circling in the skies above Brunton Park. I say Ellis and Adams because this is two players that have been enquired about despite us not expressing any willingness to sell anyone, not necessarily the players Curle has in mind to sell, though I think he might sell Ellis if it was a choice between keeping him and signing a decent striker. Maybe if he was willing to sell a midfielder then it might be Joyce, with Etuhu and Jones becoming the regular centre-pairing (which could happen in any case) though he may also sell Tom Miller. So worrying considering we've only got 18 senior players to begin with. This is the second consecutive season we've had a squad-size issue and it bit us on the arse hard last season, but I don't think it's by choice, I predicted that the new loan rules would put bog-standard journeymen and squad also-rans in a position of power in contract negotiations that they didn't previously have, forcing clubs to take bigger gambles on paying over-inflated salaries for players who might never actually play but could suddenly become essential during an injury crisis, or sticking with a small squad on a sustainable salary and hoping there is no injury crisis. Is it just me or are a lot of squads way too small?
