Carlisle fans, most of them you've mentioned wer league 1 not league 2.

Bugno, Zoko, Pericard all league 1, never graced league 2 with their presence for us

David Friio was a bit good for that exceptional Plymouth side in the early 00's. Another name that comes to mind is Onandi Lowe, but I'm not sure if he was this division or one higher.

For bad ones, just based on Gills - Stanley Aborah, Bruce Inkango and Mark McCammon fit the bill.

Australian Chris Coyne was solid as a rock for us; another signed by Joe Kinnear in 2001. Went onto play 250 times for us in 3 divisions, as well as 7 caps for his country, and was only sold to Colchester for £350,000, when probably his best days were behind him anyway, due to financial reasons.

Best:
Clyde Wijnhard, Dutch.
Bobby Petta, Dutch
Franz Burgmeier, Liechtenstein
Jason De Vos, Canada
Gaetano Gialanzza, Italian
Pavel Abbot, Polish

Worst:
Mor Diop - sold sunglasses on the beach in Ibiza, then led our forward line in 09/10, needless to say we were relegated (he did score v Shrewsbury through... god knows how).
And all the other crazy one off international signings David Hodgson made who disappeared after about 4 games.

Coyne was fcuking brilliant, everything you could possibly want in a central defender right up to and including Championship level. Not the quickest but an absolute machine in the air, read the game so well, very composed on the ball, great organiser, occasional habit of pinging in a 25 yarder. He should have won a lot more caps really, I can't recall any particularly good Aussie centre backs around when he was at his peak (2004-2007 ish).

Didn't he only play 13 minutes for you?

For the first team yeah, but played for the youths/reserves quite a bit. He looked like he had a bit of talent in pre-season, but that was against the likes of Ashford United and Thamesmead Town....he was godawful against proper players.
