Watched the Burton V Liverpool game and thought Burton were quite poor, gave Liverpool too much respect. Mane was quality for the Scousers and 5-0 is as resounding as it gets. Not a bad night for Championship clubs tonight, Wolves, Forest, Leeds, Blackburn, Newcastle, Norwich, Brighton, QPR, Bristol City and Preston all progressing.

Scunthorpe have started well, scoring 14 in their first 5 games, 5 of those on Saturday.
I think they'll give us a good game, think we will win by one goal after extra time.

In all fairness to us we made more changes than Liverpool, four players were making their first starts of the season and we were playing a left back at centre half, a central midfielder up top and had that clown Bywater in goal. That error for Liverpool's 2nd was a carbon copy of a fuck up he made at Buxton in pre season. I do concede that we didn't do ourselves justice but when you're facing £200m worth of talent, every player an international and one of the top coaches in world football you do kind of expect to be taken to school and we were. Thoroughly.

Tonight was all about the money for us. Pin me, pay me as the JOB squad used to say (you'll only get that if you watch wrestling).

Well that was a late one. 10:45pm the winning penalty goes in.

2-2 Full time, won 4-2 on penalties.

Rakels and Kelly off on stretchers. Moore and Cooper limping at the end.

Derby and Reading also make it through on penalties, biggest surprises tonight were Gillingham beating Premier League Watford at Vicarage Road, and Northampton Town knocking out West Brom on penalties. They were the only two lower league sides beating higher league opposition,

Comfortable 2-0 win, Oldham didn't play badly but I never really felt they would score.

The game really lacked any quality whatsoever and was getting frustrating until we made the substitutions, we started to see some good link-up play after that.

Was really impressed by Maxwell, didn't have loads to do but he looked pretty assured, quick off his line and is very good with the ball at his feet, always looking for a quick release too.

Makeinok didn't offer much goal threat but his hold up play is good and he obviously wins a lot in the air, I think he'll be a useful addition and Beckford could benefit from him.

Doyle had a very good cameo with a goal and an assist, Hugill also had a solid game bar the odd moment of bad decision making.

Don't know who that Oldham keeper is but he won't want to see the highlights of our second goal. Carlo Nash is Oldham's keeping coach, he definitely didn't teach him that.

Forgettable game, on to the next round.

Not every day you witness a 32 penalty shootout. Apparently 14-13 equals the domestic record.

Shame we couldn't go a bit longer, and break it

Who's watching Accrington V Burnley? Been a poor game so far a lack of quality on show, Stanley have worked really hard but Burnley need to do more. Got another 30 minutes to sit through now, penalties written all over it.

We're away to Fulham in the league the Saturday after as well.....

Dull though how many of those ties are teams against another one from their division.

Man City away to Swansea in the league following weekend. Newcastle/Wolves and Leeds/Blackburn play each other about a week earlier in the league... fascinating draw this round...

Dull draw for us, and for Fulham that, however it's one we have a decent chance in.

Shouldn't complain, away to a massive club. We would have taken Man Utd or Liverpool away so cannot be picky.

Good job i'v got 4770 Loyalty points so i won't miss out on a ticket. The demand will be huge.

Shame Burton weren't so poor last week!!! Don't know why I'm reading this thread, as were out, the league cup no longer holds any interest to me. Wont even watch the final. Imo they should do away with it and upgrade the FA cup. Replays in FA cup until a winner is found (remember 4 epic games against Everton and 5 against Arsenal from my youth, even though we eventually lost both it created great excitement and fan interest) and the winners going through to champions league would imo rekindle interest in what was once a magical competition. Maybe I'm getting old but neither now seem to generate much interest, so maybe it would be worth sacrificing 1 to save the other. Rather than both dying a slow death. Anybody agree or is it just me being a grumpy git?

If we have 100 fans at Bournemouth I'll be amazed.

We definitely will, plenty of nobbers in the London area, so not that far for them.

We had 400 fans down at Havant & Waterlooville for a televised Monday night game.

Fucking bollocks draw regardless though.

Not really, no offence to Fulham or anything, just drawing a team in your division is dull.
