To be fair Bradford fans have never required all ticket at Vale Park either... even if we only offered them 2600 as they allocate.

Imagine we will take 600 maybe few extra as its opening day, its a mega dull opening fixture though, we've been in the same league as them for all but 1 of the last 13-14 seasons now and the games are usually extremely tedious to watch mixed with their long ball tactics, Adams long ball tactics and one or the other getting a red card and parking the bus (usually 0-0, 1-1 or 1-0 either way), not many mega exciting away games bar teams odd local ones this year now bar Bolton and Charlton which im looking forward to ticking off the list.

We'd probably take a decent following somewhere on opening day if it wasn't bloody Rochdale all the time!

1112 sold for swindon next week so far

Bit of an artificial figure really as tickets were off sale for 4 days while we waited for extra tickets. The new allocation should shift fairly quick. Think they are capping our allocation at 1950 with no pay on the day.

What allocation have you been given? Would expect you to sell it out given the circumstances, I'm sure you will.

Of course you will. You have a season ticket for us, yeah? Or maybe you're a member of the Dons Trust. File under similar nonsense claims from Luton, Portsmouth, Liverpool etc

Why not? For your first game back in L1 I'd expect you to. You had 2k at York last year.

Didn't you take like 600 to Sheffield United first game recently? Last away game of the season with a chance of automatics is slightly different to first game of the season

You mean, for the first game of the season after four shit seasons for a 12:30 kickoff on Sky? Not the first game back at a half decent level after successive promotions.

Typical Gashead, I should've asked one of the more reasonable ones on here, not one that's going to be touchy about me asking what you'll sell at Scunthorpe.

We never sell very well at Scunthorpe to be fair. I'd expect around 1000-1200 which is still respectable. Southend will be another which is higher than average but not sell out material and I'd expect Swindon to sell or get very close to selling.

Agreed, anything in excess of 1,000 up there really isn't bad, but your away support was pretty good last season, was half expecting you to sell it.

Quite fortunate for you with how early you've got Swindon away, especially with the state their squad is in. Could be a cracker.

A lot of it depends on circumstances etc. and also the two first away games are (no offence to Saffend or Scunny) fairly uninspiring. Deceptively long trips, we've had them both in the league consistently over the last decade or so etc. etc. If it was say Sheffield United (3pm not half 12 ;) ) first up, I'd fancy us to take quite a few more, but its not to be.

It's an interesting start for a lot of teams. On the one hand you have the likes of Fleetwood, Vale, Oldham etc. who are kind of unknown quantities, also us and Oxford who have gone in completely different directions since promotion. Swindon's loss of Ajose is quite big but I still fancy them to be okay.

Wouldn't be surprised if we struggled a bit to begin with, as we did in the Conference and L2. Be nice to have a good start though.

On the verge of promotion in mid-January? I don't think it was quite that comprehensive mate.

Swindon were above us at the time. Was a four horse race up until late March. Swindon went off the boil, MK Dons and PNE scrapped it out for second place and we just kept on steamrolling pretty much every team in our path.

Quick Twitter search says it was 483... Think I remmeber it was the same day we was away to woking in the conference where we took over 2,000 with the away end being locked with hundreds still outside... Our away support has always been better with percentage to our home gates...

I remember that day well, people ringing into Radio Bristol making out there were fans outside queued from the turnstile back to the M32. Brilliant.

Your away to home percentages are pretty good, but that's because your home numbers are pretty shit for a city of 440,000 people. Your fans have been creaming about record 5,000 season ticket sales, we've sold 10,000 more than that and haven't just had back to back promotions and a supposed wealthy takeover.

Joke of a club
Ha - mind the gap ol' chum, remember our little bet.

Edit: just checked the number you had at our place in 14/15 - 700 despite being in the POs. Massive.
