Your last point is well taken. Looking at Southey's great work on:

Scunny is high up the league in percentage of away to home attendances. Even more is that we are a bit isolated with not too many clubs around us, except for yourselves and Rotherham and possibly Bradford.

I've had both Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon fans say how surprised they were at our away support for mid-week games. They told me that they were not expecting that many. I think our London supporters branch has over a hundred members, so that'll add a few more to those travelling from Scunny. Also, we are boosted by fans who live around the country, particularly for away days. As far as attendances in terms of the town's fairly small population size, I would say that we are reasonably well supported. However, I've seen no League 1 numbers for home attendance size as a proportion of total population.

One final factor to consider is that our proportionally high away attendances are down to Scunny fans needing more days away from their home surroundings than others . Mind you, that factor could arguably apply to more clubs than Scunny

I did laugh at the Rotherham fans calling in the Radio Sheffield phone in with comments like:

"They've only sold 200 tickets"
