Sunderland was 2k, allocation 2.8k
Cheltenham only give you 1k?
Pompey 700 light
Plymouth can ask for more but fair following that
Gills, 300 short before the side stand offering
They had 1,500 at Cheltenham and sold out, in fact there were Ipswich fans in the home ends as well.

Plymouth we couldn’t get more as it was a match they dedicated to Mariner so they sold out their end too.

Gillingham wouldn’t give us more…

A part explanation for the 650+ difference, you’re much better located to the bigger away ends.

Also, why does it matter right now, weeks after the season end?

Cheltenham was 100% a sellout. We had a fair few in the home end as well. And it was midweek.

Gillingham was a sellout. Not entirely sure why we weren’t allowed more but we’d have easily taken another thousand. Terrible decision from Gillingham to restrict us when they had empty seats everywhere.

Plymouth was a sellout for home and away fans. Was a dedicated tribute to club legend Paul Mariner. On a normal week, Plymouth would presumably have given us more and not sold their end but that doesn’t change the fact we sold out the maximum they gave us.

Well I be damned, I was sure they'd had blocks 6 and 7 of the Colin Farmer as well as behind the goal. Clearly not.
Suspect the decision would’ve been Cheltenhams rather than ours as we would always have taken more than a thousand to a relatively new ground. Was first couple of weeks in the season too when optimism was high.

Gillingham was 300 under the stand capacity

It wasnt. Those 300 tickets were never on sale to us. I remember it causing a load of Town fans moaning on twitter. I forget what the reason for them not being available was now but we did sell it out.

Here I’d like to apologise to Si Robin [Cheltenham] in claiming that FGR was always the best attended league fixture at his club in recent years.
I should have said ElGlosico is always amongst best attendances at Whaddon Road.
Simon showed that in their Championship winning season FGR was next to best attended match. [Can’t find his post with numbers]

However:
Season 2019-20 ElGlosico was best attended match at WR with 5,788
Season 2018-19 ElGlosico was best attended match at WR with 5,125
Season 2015-16 ElGlosico was best attended match at WR with 5,449
So I’m declaring it a score draw to both Simon and me.

Conversely I had assumed that the visits of Cheltenham to TNL would be the highest in the record books. The place is always packed out as it is at WR but I was gobsmacked when I came across the list of all time best attended matches at TNL with our local rivals down in 7th & 9th spot.
I wonder if Cheltenham away supporters refuse to watch match with home crowd but other club’s fans are prepared to do exactly that.

According to Wikipedia [yes I know] ground capacity at TNL is 5,141.

Last season’s highest attendance was 4,128 when Bristol R were the visitors. And the place was heaving. I expect maximum attendances will be much the same this coming season but with more than the two games over 4,000. The maximum number in the away West Stand seems to be limited to 1,224.

You might be right except when time arrives for Sheff Wed to visit TNL and your mates can only get 1,224 away tickets. Then my words will be echoing in your ears.
Enjoy the season and do well but not as well as FGR. ;)

Port Vale tickets are on sale. I wonder if they are doing another beam back lol

I'm going on a limb that anyone who wants to go won't have to camp outside the ticket office this time :)

The Ipswich fan...There ain't no bigger club in this league than Sheff Wed. accept it and move on
Eh? When did I say we were bigger than Sheffield Wednesday? I’ve nothing To do with this thread but just thought the abuse to the Forest Green fan was abit unnecessary, even if his post was pretty dull.

It all reminds me of that Crawley fan that used to post and he used to say “devils my levels” ( whatever that means )..he got a lot of abuse too as he was a bit of a helmet.

I do remember that poster you’re referring to. Was on the old TFF though always assumed it was a parody account similar to when someone signed up as Salfords fan on here once.

Regards Stroud he is a decent poster and was last season in the L2 forum setting up the match threads etc (though I’m now doubting a lot of his stats he’d post). Wish some of the ElGlosico stuff could be parked but it’s harmless enough if a little tedious.

So it begins!

Be interesting to see how followings hold up this year given the cost of living etc…

Ipswich away tickets have gone on sale (opening day), 800 sold so far.

I would anticipate for us Exeter will sell pretty well being our first away game albeit in week 2. What’s not to love about a weekender to Devon during the summertime? The game at MK won’t be particularly well supported although being my closest away game it’ll be the first I go to but people will focus on Burton away on the Saturday as it’s our closest game (I shall refrain from labelling it ElStaffico or some shite like that).

Literally the only issue I have with him. It's pathetic.
