Accrington are a small club and never pretended to be anything else. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. They’re a great example to many others. I don’t think FGR were getting that much more in a title winning season either.
Like I said above, if FGR got a home attendance like that first up in League 1. You cretins would be having a field day and you know it.

That's their usual crowd, circa 2k home fans.

Bravo to the space cadet stewards at Wycombe who told some of our fans they could not get in as it was “full”..he was told bollocks, we would take 250 if that and look again. He said there was a large school party in the away end and it was full. So some of our fans had to buy tickets to the home end. And guess what nothing in the away end bar our 253 fans. What a pisstake.

That’s brilliant from Barnsley imo.
It was, and they were pretty loud, certainly early on and at the end. V. Impressive. We get so few large away crowds so we are very appreciative of decent ones when they come. I imagine the over thousand for us this year (without checking who we have midweek) will be Bolton, Ipswich, Wednesday, Derby, Pompey, Exeter and Rovers. With possibly Charlton, Port Vale and Oxford getting close to it if its a Saturday. Have I missed anyone?

I think there’s next to no chance with us I’m afraid. Believe they’ve moved our fixture at Home Park to a Friday due to the World Cup and a potential clash with an England game.

Thought it was a really decent game. First half hour in particular I was very impressed with your lads. Our goal clicked into us into gear. Think we die enough second half for the three points but can’t complain with the draw too much.

Your manager (thought he showed a lot of class pre match with some of his comments about us as it goes) said after the game that a lot of teams won’t get anything from our place but I’d say not too many sides will have a comfortable win against your lot either. Considering it was a fever pitch atmosphere in a 27k stadium, your lads didn't shy away from the occasion at all. You’ll flirt with the playoffs I think. Hopefully top 2 for us.

I thought he meant capacity hence me querying it.

Like I say we are losing capacity though. We can’t provide away fans the lower tier anymore for security reasons I believe (too close to the home fans), the corner seats were ripped out (presumably used to replace seats elsewhere in need of repair and these were used rather than get new ones).

This season more seats near there were removed to open up the corner so emergency services would be able to enter the pitch easily if needed (a new screen added above it). We also lost seats so they could move the dugouts away from the pitch.

So a fair few either not able to use or been removed

Mate our ground hold just under 40k but capacity restricted to 33k

Christ! How come there’s that much restriction?!

I haven’t been there yet, hoping to make it this year. Does the restriction affect the atmosphere or is the restriction all in one area of the ground?

Restricted capacity in most stands due to the age and health and safety zealots who claim concourses and exits aren't compatible with expected leaving time in this day.

Take the away end, holds over 6500 between the two tiers but now max allocated is just over 4k

Yeah we’ve lost a couple of thousand on our capacity (around 20%) due to health and safety. I’ve been at the abbey in a crowd of 9.9k but we are now capped at 7.9k frustratingly.
