Pandemonium on that terrace when the third went in! Love this club!

Any idea how many Cheltenham fans @ Burton Si Robin ? As you only got the seats, and looking at Burton's previous attendance, assuming can't have been higher than 150ish?

Granted we've had Bolton, Vale and MK which skews the figures but how mental is it that 3rd tier clubs take numbers like these away

3,164 Swfc
1,966 Derby
1,496 Ipswich

It really is superb. Absolutely superb. Home support excellent as well. Better than at least half of the championship that I’d have thought.

Ours will go up to 2000+ without a doubt too before too long. We’ve had a very weird away start to the season with almost every ground (other than yourselves) being the smaller away ends (games like Forest Green and Accrington selling out but only being 1200 or whatever doesn’t help for the averages). Yet to have Charlton and MK yet too which is going to be 9k at least between them. That’ll help for numbers shooting up.

Bit of a shame re charlton next Saturday we haven’t got any extra tickets. Every year we sell it out within a day and could take double the 3k they give us. I totally get it with stewarding and atmosphere reasons but when you look around and see 10,000 empty seats there and Milton Keynes.. you can’t help but wish for the extra. But I do get it.

When we were under Evans and McCarthy was manager getting 15k at PR, we gave Leeds the whole Cobbold upper stand one year. I thought it was great. They had around 6,000 from memory. Football is a game for the people. And to bring enjoyment to the masses. If there’s seats there and some people want them, sell them. Even if that means the away allocation goes up. I’d make that an FA rule if I was in charge. It’s a game for the fans at the end of the day.

Us and Bradford are selling out away games regularly below. We will sell out 5 consecutive Saturday away games and then Harrogate on Boxing Day

Our homes games are home area sell outs or within a few hundred of that. Mansfield’s and Stockport’s home crowds are massively up as well. In the National league Chesterfield, Notts and York’s home crowds are well up. Great to have this revival in the north Mids and north

I'm sure I saw 180 somewhere, but I've no idea where now.

EDIT: Ignore that, that was the distance travelled by the Cheltenham fans.

Why should regular home fans move from there normal place just cos youre on a good run? You wouldn't give us any extra the other week when you have a lower section empty which we could have had.

Here you go ...
First chart is away average (including average miles travelled)

There are a few estimates in there and may be some errors. Please do let me know if you spot any!

Please click on the table to make it bigger and zoom in!

Not too shabby our midweek one. Will likely take a bit of a hit in the rearranged Wycombe game though I’d imagine.

Normally we’ve taken decent (for our size) followings at games in about an hours radius but not much outside that. This season it’s been decent outside of that.

Always interesting to see how midweek figures hold up. For those bigger established clubs - Sheff Wed, Derby, Portsmouth etc, there is never much change. However there is a clear dip with the smaller clubs, especially for us. Not a surprise really.

Thanks for that. Looks like our midweek one will be higher than our weekend one, which is ridiculous. Next two aways will be our highest of the season so far, such a shame Derby and Charlton weren't on a Saturday.

The game against you was a 28k sellout or near enough bar the odd seat scattered about. That section you mention below the away end is not allowed to be used. Police decision taken years ago. You’re allowed I think 50 fans in there if they’re with a youngster. But I’m not entirely sure the reasoning behind it.

We are certainly travelling well this season, for some reason we got less for Derby than Oxford and Rovers so they'd have sold easily too if given.

700 odd to Cambridge for example is probably 2-300 more than we'd normally have took in the past.

Wycombe may be the lowest (although MK away surprised me and its similar distance) but then Oxford to follow which should be around 1000.

Our home matches have always had a big change between weekend and mid week as a lot of our crowd travel quite far. The next biggest town has to be 30-40 minutes away (before taking into account the delays after matches due to higher traffic) and for regular midweeks it can definitely cause a drop when there’s a high crowd.
