Just had a look at the Wrexham fans site, there are comments like "this will be the biggest crowd Bolton will get all season","they have only come to see the Wrexham",
"what a pull Wrexham have "and !how 90% of teams will get their biggest crowd against them this season" etc etc it's bizarre how big a deal they think they are. Though looking at their list of achievements on Wikipedia they have won the Supporters Direct Cup in 2016.

One thing is for sure it will be the biggest league crowd they will have played in front of this century. Big occasion for them. The fact that they are bringing 3800 explains the fact that it will be a larger than normal crowd, mainly that, it's still on a weekend day and the prospect of decent weather.

It's only around 5 years ago Wrexham were getting 3k home gates. When they were last in the football league 15 to 20 years ago they were only getting 4k gates then. They have done well get the crowds they get now full house every home game and sell out every away allocation but it will be interesting if the crowds drop if they go on a bad run or don't make the progress up the leagues that they think they will.

You have to take it with a pitch of salt, they got 13,000 last week, take away the 1200 away fans and you’ve 11,800 odd. Of those about 3-4,000 are the genuine fans.

Those making the comments about bolton etc will be all the new ones, not the 3,400 genuine fans

In fairness to Bolton fans, they won’t be going to see the Wrexham, they will be going because they are a big club with a proper fanbase.
25000 at this level is excellent. Not many can manage it.

I think you have an inflated opinion on Bolton. It will be just another league one game. It's not even the biggest game of the season, or the most intimidating.

I'm only going in a couple of weeks because it's a tenner and I can't go to Blackpool.

Tickets were only a tenner the other night and only got less than 4000 home fans in the Toughsheet. Who ever thought of that name?

They’d have had to pay me to watch that sort of dross.

I’ll turn up if we make it to the semi final stage.

As for the name, local company ran by supporters of the club. They’re happy to pay multi-millions to the club (more than Reebok paid, another *former* hometown company). People often bring it up, so it’s seems like the sponsorship is doing its job for them.

Burnden Park
Was in Bolton. I went to it before it was demolished. Saw a cup game there.
The reebok isn’t in Bolton.
Different grounds, and locations.
Our old ground was called Eton park. No one in burton calls the Pirelli eton park.
However if you change your ground name to the pret a manger stadium, it is still fratton park to me.

Yup, Reebok forever with that one. Still try to go by Ashburton Grove rather than the Emirates, or Eastlands over the Etihad, but fuck modern football and all that.

I guess with Burton you're fortunate that Pirelli is fairly cool as far as sponsors go.

What do you do for Huddersfield or Wigan, though...

No one cares about the Carabao.
Though strangely, Bolton seemed to turn up for the Pizza Cup final

COMS for me. No idea what the Arsenal Stadium should be called. The Arsenal Stadium?
What did you call West Ham, Upton Park or the Boleyn Ground?

Kirklees Stadium, but only after dwelling on The McAlpine for a while. Wigan Whelan Wonderdome, but yeah, that ones a bit of a bastard, ''big stadium up Robin Park'' if I've got the space.

Fine with COMS, probably erred on the side of Upton Park for it's de facto vibe even if you know it's wrong.

Not having London Stadium over the Olympic stadium, but the worst one is the whole ''Tottenham Hotspur Stadium'' thing, it's White Hart Lane, no-one wants to pay what you want for it Daniel, so let's knock it off.

It's probably more a sponsor only thing than anything, it'd be on my rejected shortlist for Mesut Haaland Dicks at the very least.
