I don’t get sitting in the home ends for a league game, not enjoyable and good chance you get a smack if you forget.

I agree its a disappointing allocation, rules state 10% minimum but also that you have to give some under cover, 'cos of the configuration of Edgeley Park in its current state it's not easy to do both whilst also squeezing as many home fans in as possible (crowds are the highest in generations). Hopefully planning permission for the new stand will happen any day

Then Stockport should take a hit.......Regulations say 10% and that is what you should have allocated.
Now there is every chance of away supporters being in the home end

I see Bolton are making a fuss of this and you know what I think that’s fair play, obv dispensation of some sort is obviously been given to Stockport but quite frankly it’s not good enough.

The 960 we had last season was poor, to find out it’s been reduced even more is a piss take, the away allocation has almost halved in two seasons.

what annoys me is we are not allowed to share our North Stand even when Stevenage bring 200 in a 1800 seater yet Stockport can throw 800 in a side stand shared with home fans.

I think the thought process is that if Bolton, Wrexham or Mansfield fans go in the home end our supporters will police them.

The problem will be Birmingham City. I've seen Green Street, they looked hard as fuck.

Last season there were quite a few Stags fans in the railway end, some managed not to jump up and celebrate DKD goal, somehow.

Anybody who goes in the Railway End for 90 minutes deserves to be able to cheer their teams' goal, whoever they support.

Worst stand in the league by a mile, I wouldn't sit in it from November-March.

Can't wait to get it sorted, I've said it loads of times on here, it's a massive problem and reduces our attendance potential.

2024 and we've got a stand without a roof, you won't find me defending the indefensible, lads.

Unfortunately we’ve got a moronic SAG that won’t allow anything like that again. Whereas i appreciate i haven’t anything to back it up, you’d imagine there’s at least an equal chance of bother at stockport as at mansfield so it is a shame they can and we can’t.

What’s frustrating is that stand behind the goal rarely looks anything close to full with home fans but of course we’re stuck with only 3 sides while they dither over the bishop st stand

Think of how bad our attendance potential is currently being hit by missing a stand, and even when that’s done it’s only going to add around 1500.

The real capacity increase for us will be filling in the corners, but got to sort the eyesore first.

Personally i’d have filled in the corner between the IG and QLE before fucking around with the Bs

Absolutely not, a ground is suppose to be four sided, sort that out then you can think about the corners.

Club going about it in the right direction, the hospitality aspect above is a added bonus - I dunno why they cannot extend the stand the other way too, I know it tapers off but so does Tranmeres.

I’m not saying i’m not happy we’re doing the bishop up, i just reckon they’d have got the corner done faster and increased the capacity which is what we’re after. For me it would’ve been capacity over having 4 sides.

It’s disappointing the amount of time it’s going to take to just increase the capacity by 1500, still being hamstrung by bloody haslam.

If they do it in the timeframe they’ve vaguely mentioned it’ll be good going.

Agreed it needs doing soon, it’s not the likes of you or i that they need to be attracting.

Hopefully we’re still doing ok when it’s sorted.

Maybe mate, but Stockport FC aren't asking for any ID when buying tickets. If they had given us the end behind the goal, would have been easier and safer, but hey, it is what it is

Strange, strange policy people are buying tickets with no booking record.......It is not the national league and they are playing Leamington Spa

Hope there is no trouble but i like you do not see Stockport policing ends they will be out numbered

Hahahahah give over mate, going in the home ends is always overstated, there will be some dotted about I’m sure. Go in the home end and celebrate a goal, see how it pans out for you.

Been there and have numerous tee shirts
You have maybe never seen this because Mansfield have a policy that you either have to have past booking History or a postcode that is not in the opposition Town/City.
I am led to believe Stockport have neither in place

Done it a few times, never been an issue.

Funniest moment was Old Trafford in 2003, Ronaldo’s debut for United if I remember rightly. Stuck in the South stand for it.
Jaaskelainen saved a penalty from Van Nistelrooy in the first half, we jumped up and cheered forgetting where we were. Panicked for a second, only to look around and see a load scattered about around us celebrating too.

Only thing we got to celebrate that day, got smashed 4-0.

In all seriousness, it’s not great. Can’t really enjoy the match like you would from the away end. Just a case of needs must.

Stockport County.
There will be no Bolton fans celebrating in the Cheadle End or Main Stand. Tickets barely make it on to open sale in these stands. If any have, there's no chance they will be able to celebrate goals in there. The last time I saw that happen was about 15 years ago when an Oldham fan celebrated their early goal. He was absolutely battered. I was about 15 and looked on in horror.

I wouldn't be against having neutral areas in football, I like the banter with opposition fans. I'm in a minority there though. Edgeley Park is not that type of ground. Some of our fans go with the intention of their being trouble, Bolton fans in the home end will be red rags to bulls.

I’ve never got the whole “if the opposition fan is in the home ends they get battered” thing.

It’s one of the reasons football is so archaic, yes not advisable but don’t see it in cricket or rugby.

Not advisable to do but come on, we should do better.

It's fucking weird having a neutral end, first time I ever saw one was at Fulham in 2001, they were ready to claim the title that day we were battling relegation (whats new) so it was surreal.

I've seen Wednesday fans in the home ends a fair bit in the lower leagues, including at Stockport
