Incredible turnaround in the last 20 minutes. I was bricking it on 72 when we were a Crewe goal from going down and now we've finished 17th somehow.

For a while, I thought we were actually going to survive, but Coventry deservedly got their equaliser and then dominated the game from then on. Well done to them, and their fans, given the circumstances. Maddison looks like a good player.

Commiserations to Notts County and Leyton Orient. It must've been heartbreaking for both sides to lose leads, but I'm sure you'll both be challenging at the top of League Two next season.

As for us, I think we'll be trying to avoid relegation next season as opposed to challenging at the top. At least we'll have plenty of local games...

Thanks for the memories, League One! :bye:

I agree with SD on one thing, it is completely underwhelming. I feel guilty we're still here.

Meh, Orients result became an irrelevance in the end James, what with Colchester winning. Whilst I'm sure they are disappointed to lose a 2-0 lead against 10 men, it didn't affect things for them. Damage done before today.

Crawleys and Notts Countys fans, genuinely without rubbing it in, must be devastated, especially Notts County's to lose it so late. Feel for them.

We were up until the 61st minute(when Notts County and Crawley were winning), down for 12 minutes, up in the 73rd minute(when Coventry equalised), down in the 82nd minute(when Colchester and Notts County were winning) for 6 minutes and up for good in the 88th minute(when Gillingham equalised). 18 minutes of pure torture.

Feel for the county fans today they were fantastic but the players got every thing they deserved with the play acting on the floor

Agree with above.

Commiserations especially to Raven Bish - hope you bounce straight back...

Don't feel like we deserved to stay up or win today, but it's pretty gutting that Preston couldn't get a point at Colchester. And as much as I like to pile on Joe Garner as much as the next man, I don't feel like I can enjoy him failing today,

Seems an odd choice for today to have been your first game of football, but ok.

Don't be daft...after 46 games we had enough points to stay up...52 infact, which should be more than enough.
'bout time the football gods smiled on us a bit anyway and at the end of the day it's either us or them other teams.

About time the gods shined on us? We've had 2 wembley appearances, a promotion, a trophy and two near flirtations where we've stayed up on the last day of the season all within four years. It's about time the gods told us to piss off.

It's making up for all those years at the bottom of League Two.

Ahh well if you believe half of twitter we should forget the fact that we were SHITE today and for the entire season infact. We should forget the fact that we have scored the least amount of goals I have ever known a crewe team to score and forget about the fact we've conceded millions yet again. Why should we forget this? Oh yes because apparently we have a small budget, nothing else matters and we are consistantly 'over achieving' which we should apparently be thankful for every single bit. Am I the only one who isn't happy about today? We were shite and deserve to go down.

Agreed we were shambolic. Really need to learn from our mistakes but I fear we won't.

I agree with every bit, bar the last sentence. You get what you deserve at the end of the season. Why do any of the bottom 4 deserve to stay up in our place? We were shite today and that is unacceptable. We have been shite in a number of games. But lets remember we picked up 34 points from 19 games between October and mid February. Only conceded 14 goals in our last 19 home games and only lost 4 of them. Only conceded 1 or fewer in our last 9 games.

This season has been appalling for the most part and things have to change, but we do not deserve to go down, we deserve to stay up. Its more down to how poor this league has been than how well we've played, but there is not a lot we can do about that. We deserve to stay up, not by much and its not saying much, but we do deserve it.

Ah, surreal scenes at Crawley. One end going crazy, the other deflated.

Shame we will lose Crawley away, another terrace gone.

Commiserations to all the fans on here of Notts County, Crawley and Leyton Orient. Especially Notts County - to lose it like that in the last three minutes is a real killer.

I still can't believe that we pulled it off. 18 points from the final 10 games and still only just scraping through shows what a huge task it was, and we some how did it. It was said a while ago that our budget is set to improve next year and we should be ok if we can see this through, but it didn't look likely - I just hope we are now somehow a bit more comfortable again next season, I don't think I can keep going through this every year.

We won one game against the top half all season, taking 12 points from a possible 72.

Wouldn't have even won that had Ian Evatt not picked up a knock.

While not as anxious as Crewe fans I can imagine, you Coventry lot must have been pretty nervous throughout the game before your equaliser. Having a goal ruled out, a penalty saved and going a goal down, and then wasn't there a period when you were just one Crewe goal from going into the relegation zone?

Well done to JoeJoeJoeJoe for getting the correct result and winning margin if not quite the right scoreline.

Yes, when we were losing and County were winning we were one Crewe goal from dropping into the bottom 4. I was confident mostly throughout but it got a bit edgy for about 10-15 minutes in the second half.

Amazingly Derby weren't the biggest choke of this weekend. Even by County's standards that is remarkable.

Bad luck. Assuming the step up 2 leagues isn't too much I'm sure I'll be seeing RB et al when we start our annual implosion next season (not heard from them for a while)
