The percentage of our fan base who expect anything other than a bottom 10 finish next season is 10%<. We are going to require a huge rebuild, without the solid base Smith has last summer and a rookie manager who whilst very passionate and a Walsall man through and through, is going to need to learn the management game. This sets us back to early Smith territory IMO.

When you add that into the fact that 3/4/5 of our key starting XI are off and will likely be replaced by young youth/cheap punts, I think anyone with a sane mind would stick us down the rankings in the promotion stakes.

I hope you're wrong, but I fear you may be right.

In addition, at least one of the unsuccessful playoff teams normally suffers a hangover. Two years ago, Posh were a bit meh and Orient imploded; last season Swindon, Chesterfield and Sheffield United all disappointed to a greater or lesser extent. Walsall look more vulnerable in this respect than Millwall or Bradford...

Bradford could easily win it next year. We might well lose one or two

It's too early to say anyone can win it, for us we need more quality upfront and an entire central midfield, plus I would hope a better keeper although Ben Williams has been offered a new deal as well as the young reserve goalie we signed last summer. These odds seem to be for fans to take a confident punt on their own team regardless of any real signings being made.

16/1 isn't bad.

Grant McCann is an unknown quantity but he breeds confidence so who knows?

I remember Wimbledon beating them 8-1 in the conference playoffs (hard to forget) only a short few years ago. Would be amazing if either one of us are in contention. Although with the money backing Fleetwood, 50-1 does look attractive!

Don't waste your money. Mid table at best for us next season

If Vale appoint a foreign manager with no knowledge of League one then we are nailed on certs for the drop, appoint a British one with previous experience then mid-table.

Sheff Utd being favourites is hardly a shock, same as Pompey in League two, basically go on the name and size of club.

Fully agree Saddlerrad.
It looks like we will need a massive rebuild, far to early to say how we will do until we see exactly which players are leaving and who their replacements are.
I think Sawyers Lalkovich & Mantom are definitely off, with better offers from other clubs, Bradshaw will probably be sold - that's our 4 top scorers from last season gone, looks like Demetriou, one of our best players last season will go too.
