We won't be good enough to win it I wouldn't have thought. Luton and Cov would be my top two currently. Expect Chesterfield, Mansfield, Exeter to have good seasons, Lincoln could get themselves into the play offs.

I'd be disappointed if we weren't top 7 pushing for top 3 if we can strengthen a little more in forward areas.

Still can't call us yet, we are about five or six first team signings away from knowing with a plethora of trialists so hard to say.

Strike force looks to have some potential and assume that's finished, keepers complete but defence and midfield still need work. Right back, left back wingers and an attacking central midfielder needed still.

I wouldn't expect too much from anyone you sign at this stage in the summer. I know I wouldn't if it was us still with glaring holes in our squad, which we absolutely don't have at all no sir no way.

Not sure who will win it as ourselves and Mansfield aside don't think I know much the signings of anyone else. Think Mansfield and us will be top 8 though

I think we will be alot better than last season but hard to say how far we will go. I will say top half though.

Getting into the play offs will be a massive achievement for us but i think we'll just miss out again.

If we carry on where we left off, with the Nolan form we will be play offs.

However we are short in 3 main areas right through the spine of the team and if we don't get anyone good enough in, which seems to be that we are putting money on the table and no one is taking it. I'd go for us to be top half as it stands. We haven't improved enough for me to say anything different.
But the money's there so we will see.

I will be expecting plenty from Lawrie Wilson to be fair :)

Think we'll be mid table, possibly pushing for the playoffs.

We usually find perplexing ways of fucking up simple things but we do look strong.

I said at the end of last season with Portsmouth Plymouth donny and blackpool going up its a great chance for sides to have a crack last season, it's actually quite a weak league in comparison to last season.

I'd expect to see Mansfield Swindon and Coventry in the top 7, Luton will be there, and I'd expect Notts - who looked good at the back end of last season, Chesterfield and Lincoln to all make strong efforts also.

So far I've backed Luton e/w at 11/1 for the title and 9/4 to be promoted. Prices have shortened since I backed them so happy with that.

I am considering backing Colchester for a top 7 finish at 11/4. Seemed to end last season well, just waiting to see who they bring in to replace Chris Porter. The only other player of note they've lost is Brindley and Jackson has come in to replace him.

I just put 50p on Chelsea, Boro, Pompey, Luton and Tranmere to win their divisions. £5265 if it comes in. :cool1:

Wouldn't mind reading this blog too, did anyone see the site before it got edited out?

I just had a little peak at the article on that blog but decided it wasn't worth my time when they had Chesterfield down for a lower mid table finish. Can't be right surely.

Boro winning the championship will not be happening, otherwise your picks look solid. But yeah it's only 50p.

Guessing your link got taken out, what did you say about Cov?

No idea what to expect from us, we've made some solid signings in Doyle, Vincenti and Mcnulty but we're still 4/5 players away from having a proper squad.

Also Robins tends to be a defensive manager so we will struggle to break teams down at home playing one up front if they play ten men behind the ball, this was the problem we had the first time he was here in 2012.

Blackpool getting promoted has made me more optimistic ahead of the season as it shows a fan base at war with its owners and playing in front of an empty stadium can still be successful, I'd be very disappointed if weren't challenging for the top 7 at least.

Who do you fancy for the Championship? It's the one I couldn't make my mind up about. Boro have made some decent/interesting signings though; Howson, that Danish winger from Toulouse, Cyrus Christie, Miller from Bury, etc. They have players who weren't that great in the Prem but should be far too good for the Championship too; namely Stuani and de Roon. Plus the likes of Roberts, Downing, Bamford who have all performed very well in that division at different times in their careers. Everyone knows Monk is a decent manager too. They might not win the title and it's a tough one to call, but I reckon they'll be up there.

I went for Luton and Mansfield. Can't remember off the top of my head what odds I got them at.

I got Luton at 8/1 outright on an increased odds sheet at a Coral shop. I think Mansfield were 6/1 on the same sheet. Seemed better than the online odds I'd looked at.

Exeter at 16/1. If they can avoid a dodgy start this season, I think they'll go close.

He had Coventry as one of the teams just missing out on the playoffs

The odd with us are in part down to Evans.

Yes, we've a squad which should, on paper, easily finish top 7 - doesn't mean in the slightest that it would happen, but anyone from the higher leagues doing the champions of each division for instance will see Evans and go with us, hence the shorter odds.

Being favourites makes me feel queasy.

Sorry mate, meant to reply yesterday but forgot (now there's a surprise :ffs:) Anyway, perhaps it would've been better if I had kept my mouth shut as I don't really have a clue on who'll win the championship. If pushed I'll go with either Wednesday or Villa, only because that's what my mind's telling me.

Thing is you've made a solid case there for Boro so I really don't know. Yeah, it's a given they'll be up there, and I would have them to make the top 4. But I just don't see them coming first, although that could have something with the last time they there, a couple years back, when they were pissing the league but ended up losing the title.

For a second there I was about to respond with a resounding 'Stevenage are not going to win the title'.
