Hoolihan is class as is Lee but you cannot bleat about him only playing Saturdays. Lee is also taken out of some midweek squads..........The reason Hoolihan is playing for you is exactly that ! If Hoolihan was in his early 30s and was able to play Tuesday, Saturday he would be playing in the Championship with Norwich.

The same with Lee if he did not spend 18 months out injured and could play week in week out he would still be in Sheff Wednesday first team.

He's not using that stat as a complaint, but to show his influence. We're lucky to have Wes at all, we all know he'd still be in the championship if he could turn it on two days a week. He'll be with us a fleeting moment and we're lapping it up while we can.

On best players - Keiran Lee is, I'm sure, a good player but the man who stood out both times we played Bolton was Santos. Not often you see a CB of that class down here. He'd be a shoe in for my team of the year. Probably alongside Paudie O'Connor.

Why players like Santos are down here is quite simple.....They play well good 8 out of ten games but the other two they have shockers really bad. A premier player plays well 8 games and plays ok the other two games.
Santos is a beast of a player 6/7 all muscle rapid will not be outsprinted. Decent on the ball but every now and again he is prone to a shocker......I have said this all season.
He had a shocker v FGR [Opening day] Barrow,Tranmere and Port Vale......The rest of the games he gets 8s or 9s every week
Since moving to a flat back 4 he simply is the best centre half in the league.

Would be easier if you couldn’t vote for a player from your own club. Nichols or Nadesan from Crawley.
If you had seen some of the misses Nadesan has this season you wouldn't have him anywhere near this. Very effective in running in behind which stretches the opposition etc but not best player by a long way.

Hoolihan, Twine and Lapslie (Mansfield) are the best I've seen but only seeing them once or twice a season means I wouldn't go into bat for them if it came to an argument.

It’s Wes Hoolahan and it’s not even close.

I think Scott Quigley is hugely underrated!
IF (big if) the team is set up to make the most of him, he can be almost unplayable. However, under Jolley he was anonymous almost every game.

For me, he's a better player than Andy Cook ever was for us - and I think Cook is great- but sometimes he'll miss an easy chance and has a tendency to throw himself to the ground too much, which can be frustrating. We might have a job on to keep him in the summer though.

i wouldn't have quigley back here, however well he does at barrow, saw enough of him to know he is shit in my view.

same as theo to be honest. obviously something about him but ideally they can both find that something away from vale park.

Don’t really recall Quigley getting much game time with us in fairness? Although felt pretty damning in a side struggling for goals with Pope injured and Ricky Miller and the lad from the American College lead? Elliott as other options.
Had a few sub apps but not really many more that I remember.

Theo just seems lazy and that never ever gets you on the good side of our fans... Constantine was lazy but scored 27 in a season and our fans still moaned although Theo has been poor. Seemed intent on not scoring against his former club yesterday with that lazy dangle when he just had to throw his foot at it for 2-0!

Yeah quigley should have probably got more game time but if he's not showing anything special in the drips and drabs he did get then he can't have been doing anything in training either. he seemed scared to put a challenge in to be honest. if you are going to be shit at least put a shift in, that's half the battle with vale fans, it's why guthrie hasn't had too much shit for not scoring, because he puts himself about a bit compared with theo.

if theo was on 10-15 goals then you can forgive the lack of impact he has otherwise, but like you say, when he's missing tap ins against his former club and doing fuck all else then not a lot to defend him with really.

Hoolahan, but only when Cambridge aren't launching long balls over him (which is most of the times I have seen them this season to be fair) and only because Anthony Glennon-Driscoll didn't re-sign for us this season.

Seems harsh - he's clearly falling backwards and can't stretch his leg any further than that.

Yeah but why is he falling over backwards for a ball played in front of him!

He’s a funny one he’s had a decent career stats wise but he hasn’t been any good for us in either spell. Some players just don’t fit a club maybe.

I’m relieved that he signed for you instead of us then if he’s that bad as with him up front we could’ve had a really shit season.

He was for a while de registered, only now in the 23 as our sub keeper got injured and we signed a kid to replace him.
