At the back of my mind have to admit I did think it would be something like this. Just heartbreaking though regardless.

Some ex players had suggested it was with links to mental health charities when discussing it (which they shouldn’t of mentioned if they did know), absolutely tragic, left a young family behind but you just don’t know what’s going on inside peoples heads and is a real tragedy, rest in peace Collo.

Vale fans have donated over £1500 so far, small comfort for the family compared to the loss of course but hopefully it will help in some way.

It's a great gesture that i'm sure will be appreciated. We have a fund running as well, up to about £4.3k so far. If the money just buys Lee's family some time then that's worth it.

Astonishingly bad news with all that’s happened, such a tragic end to such a nice man.

In a forum where there’s going to be a lot of men under the age of 40 suicide is the number 1 killer.

Whereas i can’t pretend to know what led Lee to do what he did, if anyone on here feel that way themselves or know someone who they think might do something so final - talk!

Well said. Truly horrendous circumstances, the poor lad.

I've lost two mates to suicide aged 21 and 25, and still to this day nobody really knows why either of them thought that was the only way out. So sad. Speak up lads, i've no doubt we all have plenty of people around us who would be willing to listen and help. From personal experience it does help massively talking.

Absolutely and spot on yourself, it can be anything - things like covid and mates commit suicide put football in its place.

Totally agree about talking though.

Fantastic video, and that last message from it rings so true. From what they all say about him, it sounds like he was the last person you'd have ever thought was struggling. I'd imagine a lot of us are men in the 20-40 age bracket, I know and know of far too many men who have taken their own lives, friends, their relatives, , colleagues, people I went to school with. Its a huge problem and there is an important message to take from this.

Very sad.

Sad news coming out today that our captain, Lee Collins passed away yesterday aged 32. RIP Lee.
Our game tomorrow has obviously been postponed.
The loss of a young life is always tragic,I contemplated suicide at 18 and have struggled with mental health ever since, thank God for fellow Aston Villa supporter William and his wife Katherine brother Harry and son George the debate has moved on.Sadly cases like Lee are all too common he wasn't to know that a momentary thought was the end of his life,it could have been the idea that he was nearing the end of a career as in the case of David Bairstow or an unknown imagining as in the case of Gary Speed.RIP Lee a young life ended far too soon with the double whammy of the loss of Laura Brooke puts our own perceived problems into perspective SANE tel no 0203 805 1759 or SANELINE 0300 304 7000 sane.org.uk there is ALWAYS someone to talk to.

Definitely the right thing to do given the news over the last 24 hours
The late Bill Shankly said'Football is'nt a matter of life or death it's much more important than that' I admired his footballing sides, and his sense of humour but he must have regretted saying that,Lee's death highlight that there ARE things more important than Soccer. Yeovil did the right thing in postponing their fixtures.

Inquest today.

Such a tragic ending to a young life .

Goes to show how fragile things are, and it’s tragic what happened to him.

I’d probably guess most on here will be men under the age of 50, it’s the biggest killer of that age group.

If you’re reading this and struggling SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT, there is no shame in doing so.

You’re not on your own and it’s not an embarrassment to do the above.
