Brentford dont change, probably win every ´expected goal´comparison but dodgy keepers, a defence with a mistake in them and a wasteful strikeforce mean I was wrong to say they´ll win the league.
Any other middling Champ strikeforce would have scored at least 3 today with the positions Brentford got themselves in. Even the penalty was a mess up from Brentford.

Draw was probably fair, Brentford were impressive and worked hard. Terribly inconsistent display from the referee.

When we've had a bottom four budget for the last four seasons, we can only compete at a certain level. I think this fact gets overlooked frequently and that we compete in the top half each season, most opposition fans seem to forget quite how small our budget is in comparison. Bottom four budget, top ten finish for four seasons in a row. It ain't bad, and our transfer fees and salaries can only stretch so far.

Thought the defense looked pretty solid today... and we've got the top scorer in the division. The most we've paid for a striker in our history is around £1.2m... we can't all be chucking £7m at forwards.

The fact that we’re even in the discussion for promotion every year on a bottom 4 budget is ridiculous.

If we cut out a few stupid errors in defence, we’d be right up at the top too.

A bottom 4 budget after spending more than £5m in the summer... I don’t think so.

The last four seasons. No idea about this season, but it's £5m (possibly a bit more) only financed through player sales. We're probably paying Benrahma the same as Jozefzoon was on, and Konsa probably half what Bjelland was on. Plus we sold Vibe - who was a high earner - and didn't replace him, nor bring in anyone for a fee after selling Woods. There's every chance we're on the same or even slightly less than our budget last season.

Your budget is not bottom 4, regardless of net spend — you’re telling me Millwall, Preston, Rotherham and Wigan have 5m to spend?

They'd have £5m to spend if they raised as much as we do in player sales. £7m for Woods, £4m for Egan, £3m Vibe, £1m Kirschbaumer, £6m for Jota, £3m Colin, £3m for Jozefzoon, £2m Dean, since the final day of the '17 summer window. Of the side that started today's game, only two of the eleven were summer acquisitions... and of those two, one was a freebie.

We spend a fraction of what we receive in fees, and whack our new players on 3-5 year contracts, so spread the cost out. If we go and drop £3m on X player and then sign him up to a 4 year contract, it's only going to cost us £750k a season by accounting standards. So our outgoings are minimal compared to most other sides in this division, as through our due diligence we see success through long-term contracts with players that have significant potential and £££ upside. And as a result our budget is well within the lower reaches of the division.

Spend isn't as relevant as net spend and salaries. Our salaries have probably dropped a bit from last season - so yeah, I reckon our net spend is going to be around the same this season.

By budget we’re talking about salaries. Consistently bottom 4 while we’ve been in this league.

We always have a negative net spend too, unlike most teams in this league.

As tosh said, we only spend when we sell, and we’ve still not signed anyone to replace Woods or Vibe.

You didn’t need to replace Vibe with Maupay already in your ranks, it was just that your fans didn’t rate him (much like they didn’t Vibe) for some reason.

Competition. We only really have 1 senior proper striker in the whole squad. We definitely need/needed to replace Vibe with someone who'd push Maupay for the starting spot up front.

Maupay was the replacement for Hogan...

And yeah as Tosh says, we have one striker in our squad. Most others in this division have 4-5?

Are you key men back after the break? That will be the difference turning draws into wins , i like brentford as a small club playing football the right way , but after yesterdays showing they look a bunch cheats like every other team , shame that header didnt go in at the end justice would of been done , that ref is a manc fan and it told so one sided.

That's just you being a numbnut then ain't it.

We've struggled due to goalkeeping issues which is annoying, dropping points where we shouldn't. But still on for a play off finish which I wasn't about this point last season.

Before this season we've had a bottom 4 wage bill I believe, probably not to dissimilar now but we can now afford to spend more on transfer fees and still compete with sides that massively outspend us. We'll keep at it.

Regarding the game, ref wasn't as bad as made out but Odubajo should have gone and he made the correct decision regarding pen. Video footage shows keepers body went through Watkins' legs regardless if he was on his way down or not. Either way Leeds fans I'm sure are quick to forget the offside goal they scored that beat us at Elland Road last season so wahey who gives a shit.

Two exciting teams battling it out, no Tony Pulis, Gary Rowett or Karanka bollocks. Great for the division.

It was the long grass that beat you at Elland Road last year wasn't it?

It was but unfortunately we never got around to setting up a petition over it.

Yeah I heard about that, pathetic. The games done, Leeds got a point, it's not like they lost everything - people need to get a grip.
