Borthwick-Jackson should go straight in unless they start Anita at LB

Jansson is back, so we should be more solid than at Bolton, we can score now it seems

2-1 Leeds

Decent side Leeds but we look a different team to the one that struggled against them last season, will certainly play on the front foot a bit more.

Hoping we can take advantage of Leeds' defensive issues, would be nice if Jansson doesn't make it, good player.

Play like we did against Wednesday and we can get something here. Nice head ache up front, whether to start Maguire or Hugill.

Maxwell
Fisher, Huntington, Spurr, Cunningham
Pearson, Browne, Johnson
Barkhuizen, Maguire, Robinson

Rudd, Vermijl, Davies, Gallagher, Horgan, Hugill, Mavididi

Suspect it'll be Kev's team. Anita could play LB but suspect if CBJ has a decent game tomorrow (if he plays) he'll start.

Hopeful of a win but PNE don't seem to have gone backward despite the management change so not expecting an easy game. We won't be solid at the back for a few weeks yet I suspect but look sure to cause most teams some issues going the other way.

Hopefully last night gives us a kick up the ass for the Saturday.

Further highlighted our need for centre back competition, Hunts & Spurr were great on Saturday but Davies & Boyle will never work as a partnership.

Saiz made a more than subtle case to start after last night's display. Not sure if we can fit him and Hernandez into the same starting 11. Both had strong games last time out.

Preston are unpredictable, having beaten Wednesday on the opening day and then losing midweek. I'd take a draw but if we attack like we have been doing and Pontus shores up the defence, I think we could take all three points. Still far too early to tell yet what we're capable of. A close to full house (home anyway) at Elland Road at the minute, reckon last nights performance may encourage a few more tickets to shift.

We made 9 changes against Accrington to be fair.

Looking forward to this. Have no idea what to expect from us, apart from a Pearson yellow card which is a given.

Same line up as against Sheff Wed for me.

The player (can't remember his name) was going mad at Saiz about it, happened at HT apparently. Probably will get away with it.

if he did do it then deserves punishment, watched the game on kodi, didn't see a thing nor has anyone found any proof of it, the Port Vale players were kicking him all game and he ran them ragged, so it might be true but nothing has been found

if he is banned it's nice knowing we have Pablo Hernandez to fall back on, what a strong squad we've got going forward this season wow

Bloody hell. Thought Hernandez was sure to start after a good game at Bolton but can you leave Saiz out? Great problem to have for a change.

Can't see how they both get in the starting 11 unless one is pushed out wide. Can't leave Saiz out after Wednesday for me. I thought towards the last third of last season, Hernandez went missing in some games and put this down to his fitness/age. He's towards the back end of his career and probably can't play 40-odd games on the trot without being rested periodically. He might end up as an impact player?

I'm happy with that. He definitely needed a break at times last season but there weren't too many viable options to replace him. I know a lot said Roofe but he's not exactly pulling up trees, though quietly improving I think. The 3 behind Wood were a major issue at times last year (especially struggling to contribute with goals) but with Saiz and Alioski bringing in some serious ability and competing with talented players who dropped off last year, we're looking pretty set going forward now.

Good point in the end, would have snapped your hand off for it before the game.

The red card changed the game, at that point I felt like we where really getting on top and looked like the team that would win it.

Pearson is some fucking player, the best on the pitch for me today until the sending off. I'm not going to go off on one about him like some fans did today because it that's aggressive side to his game that makes him the player he is but the yellow cards every game need to stop. Having said that I don't think the first yellow was a booking, he won the ball, the second one was just plain stupid.

Great innit. We're a good side, we just didn't spend millions doing it so nobody realises.

Battered em all game till the red and yet somehow all they can remember is the bit after the red card.... Yet even after the red we had the better chances...

Don't think we played particularly well today, but still controlled the game before the sending off.

Barkuizen, Hugill and Robinson were all very quiet.

And leave Pearson alone. Absolutely mustn't curb his aggressiveness, the mad bastard. I love the psycho. I'm sure he snorts a massive line of crystal meth just before every game.

I really don't know how PNE can claim they battered us? Barely had any chances, not that we did either. Had 0-0 all over it from an early stage.

We never got going but annoys me how fans expect us to roll everyone over at ER every game. It's not how it works, especially in this league...

Players like Spurr, Browne and DJ have really grabbed their chance under the new manager, all three have been great.

Darnell Fisher also looks a great piece of business, amazing what a change of club can do sometimes.

Maxwell is class, probably the most under-rated keeper in the division.

Pearson can whap is cock out and piss on referees for all I care, he can do what he wants.

Barkhuizen, Hugill, Robinson, Maguire, Horgan, Harrop, DJ, Mavididi... really good attacking options, hard not to be positive at the moment but we all know how quickly things can change in football.

Another tough trip to Derby next, hope we can take advantage of their faltering start.

They didn't 'batter' us at all, the first half was scrappy with very little between two average performances. Second half it opened up a bit until Preston went down to 10 men.

Leeds gave away the ball so many times, we needed someone to calm it down and begin to dictate play but it never materialised. Preston had spells, as did Leeds, but it was a fairly 'typical' Championship game.

We'll need to be better on Tuesday.
