Ugh. Let's look forward to some unnecessary unpleasantness towards fans and proper shit centre back signings, then.

I was never Hendon's biggest fan whilst he was in charge, but he probably did the best out of anyone under the clown. Also, if you've checked out Sammy Moore's filibuster of an interview, it seems that the dressing room was right behind Hendo, I think he could work well with Ling and he knows the national league so I wouldn't mind too much. Would still rather have the Dover chap.

Looks like Ian Hendon is the new Head Coach

He's resigned from his position at Billericay Town, not a big suprise, he'd been to a few of our games at the back end of last season.
But why would a guy quit his job at 'The best non league team in the world' to go to another non league team? Bizarre... :dk:

Teddy Sheringham was interviewed this week.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the guy as a player and if he became our manager I'd be lovestruck, but he is not what we need right now.

I was sat next to Teddy Sheringham at Dagenham when he was manager at Stevenage. He went down for half time refreshments, didn't actually make it to the kiosk before the second half as he spent the whole break basically posing for selfies. Fair play to him.

The title and tone of this discussion clearly need to change.

How about something along the lines of sleeping giant set to take little League by storm!

I think this thread can have proper closure once we announce our new head coach - Which will be next week.

Heard today that the ex Crewe coach Steve Davis is also a candidate - That was what my mate was told by Sean Clohessy whom he saw at Leatherhead v Bromley earlier today!

Clohessy also said that players went to Becchetti's mansion several times and ended up getting into heated arguments with him.

When things were rarely good, he actually spend money on players nights out etc. But when it was shit he used to try and dictate everything, which was ultimately his demise.

Nowhere close tbh. Still have a good few signings to come.

I wouldn't underestimate yourselves, things are beginning to improve at the club after what the supporters have been through. I've managed to get hold of 16/1 with William Hill to finish in the top 3, 1/4 odds.
Also the odds are coming down, as well as 14/1 for Wrexham I took for my bets.
Good luck!

And to you mate, good to see you've moved the club back to playing in the town. One day I hope Darlington can come back.

Thanks Terminator, Indeed its a start I suppose to what will be a very long road back into the Football league. And that will take some time in getting our new ground up to that grading standard, with us being a fan-owned club.
Good luck mate for the new season!

Abysmal result in court.

We have 15 contracted players, 12 of whom are youth team players, one is out with a cruciate ligament injury and the other two are French centre backs who can't head the ball. We have sold zero season tickets, our manager's contract is up in two weeks, we still owe another c.£400,000 in unpaid bills and there will be a mass boycott if Becchetti stays.

You can write us off.
Who?

This might seem like a really random question, but by any chance do any of you Orient fans know much about your new interim chairman Marshall Taylor?

That is a very random question ha. I know literally nothing about him bar what's on Companies House. Why do you ask?

Following up on a weird thread. Companies house seems to be down right now for me anyway. Any chance you know what is listed on there?

He's either an old school buddy of yours or your mortal enemy!

From memory he is director of a few consultancy businesses in London. I may be making this up mind.

Ha, not quite. It is possible that he is someone I knew a bit through his involvement with AFC Rushden & Diamonds reforming. I haven't been able to confirm yet if it's the same guy, but people are saying it is. I'm trying to find out either way.

Very interesting. Is there any news about your Marshall Taylor floating around? Judging by Facebook/ Linkedin Marshall Taylor isn't exactly Britain's most common name...

I'm looking back for some, and I can't find anything that was published in the local press. The Marshall Taylor that was involved with us was one of two people to chair the initial open consultation meeting(s) due to just stepping up. The other was Ralph Burditt, current AFCR&D chairman. Other than that involvement he was very much a behind-the-scenes person rather than a face running things.

Frankly the thing that brought it to my attention was seeing the name "Marshall Taylor" had been used on our crowd fundraising to donate £1,000.

It would appear to be the same guy from connecting a few dots.
